    Question 1
When playing any multi-player game, which of the following best describes you?

"I try to run some things on my own at first, then I try to rustle up a group of people I know once I've investigated."

    Question 2
When you visit community forums, what is your primary interest in doing so? (examples: news from developers, socializing with server mates, at work and can't log in, etc)

At first it was just for information, until I found a group of like minded people to goof around with.

    Question 3
What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?

    Running with friends
    Warforged: Hieroh Protagonist, Halberd, Brunsen
Dwarfs: Stonebones, Reuger of the Mror Holds, Stuntman Mike, Zarakk Nur
Halfling: Slagador, Human: Baalthezar ALL on Ghallanda
and one Trust Fund Dorf on Argo: Torlan

Wow, this week's questions got buried in "zomg devils! panic!" posts.

Q: When playing any multi-player game, which of the following best describes you?
A: I prefer group play, because it allows more to happen faster. However, in group play, I'm promising the group that I will see the quest to completion, regardless of the time it takes. Most weeknights I don't have enough time available to make that promise, so I do a lot of solo play.

Q: When you visit community forums, what is your primary interest in doing so?
A: Getting tidbits of how the game is developing, and offering ideas to improve it overall.

Q: What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?[/QUOTE]
A: Near launch, we got a static group together that would run all new content together for the first time.
Going into any quest, none of new what was going on. The rogue had to scout, and the rest of us crept along cautiously behind. It was real Dungeons and Dragons.

Starting with the first raid, out little group fell apart. The heavily scripted nature of the encounter made it impossible to "muddle through, D&D style" like we'd been doing. I still enjoy the game, but it doesn't have the D&D feel to it anymore. My adventures lately have been guided tours where I watch a set of red bars.

The most memorable specific moment was the first time through STK; I'm standing in the middle of a plus-sign shaped room watching my minions^B^B^B^B^B^B party solve a tile puzzle. One of them says "Rusty, you may not want to stand on the door." I answer with "What doo?ooooaaaaaahhhhhh." I swear my heart leapt in my throat like I was actually falling.
There was a girl warforged named Cleaver.
Every man that she loved would soon leave her.
They all left so fast / as they couldn't get past
the fact that she has a Brass Beaver

    Question 1
When playing any multi-player game, which of the following best describes you?

    * "I try to find a group as fast as possible. I hate trying to figure this stuff out by myself."
    * "I try to find a group as fast as possible. The more the merrier!"
    * "I try to run some things on my own at first, then I try to rustle up a group once I've investigated."
    * "I try to go it alone as much as possible. I can't stand other people"
    * "I try to go it alone as much as possible. I'm too shy to deal with other people"

When I want to group (more often than not), I'd be Option 2. But sometimes I feel like soloing (mainly for the challenge), and at those tims I can be pretty antisocial, tho not quite to the extent of option 4.

    Question 2
When you visit community forums, what is your primary interest in doing so? (examples: news from developers, socializing with server mates, at work and can't log in, etc)

Information on in-game things I wouldn't have the time to find out myself (e.g. Crafting recipes), plus getting Dev info and giving Dev feedback.

    Question 3
What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?

[b]First completions of genuinely tough stuff, such as Elite Running with the Devils, Elite Against the Demon Queen (the preraid, might not be tough now that cap is 16), Elite Ghosts of Perdition (not tough now, but this was Day 1 of release and we had no idea how to do it )
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Finding information (be it development info, the latest crafting recipes, or trade threads) and discussing strategy/builds.

Finding a scroll of Mordenkainen's Sword.

question 1:When playing any multi-player game, which of the following best describes you?

I try to run things on my own and then see about getting into a group

caveat: I don't do this in DDO because I find soloing to be highly inefficient and time consuming. I only solo if I have a significant amount of time. In other words I am unable to play in my preferred playstyle in this game.

question 2: When you visit community forums, what is your primary interest in doing so? (examples: news from developers, socializing with server mates, at work and can't log in, etc)

Mostly finding information and/or perusing people's points of views on things.

question 3: What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?

So far, finishing a 3 man PUG Pit run two levels below the level of the instance.

And because I fell like it

Question 2 from last week: What is the worst thing an NPC could make me do?
Raid. I'd rather be burned alive than do a raid instance.

Default ok ill give it a go

    old questions first

    1) absolutely nothing to thank them for I come to havea D&D experiance and largely find myself in a sub par game which takes advantage of my love for the tabletop, and my need for an occasional D&D fix.

    2) captured by a villain, no prob he just needs to buy me off and Ill go whack the 12 for him.

    3) aspirations in 2008 actually have fun without being ****ed off by the tyrannical 12.

    New questions.

    1) Id much rather solo things my first time through the game not my 2nd, having to join groups just to get through quest and therefore being told waht to do and where to go destroys any feeling of adventure and exploration I get on the tabletop.

2)I come to the forums to rant at the 12 tyrants who need to sit behind a DM screen where I can hit them with a well thrown Dice bag. Also to trade sometimes but Id much prefer a live in game trade line. the Auction house is bunch of B.S with how much jink they skim off you.

    3) Best memories include cool and kind acts largely from strangers who clearly have the spirit of D&D strong within them. Of quest Id say my recent attempt to solo a quest Id never done before called Reclamation, I failed near the end ,was far from a Meta game build, lacking the super AC and DPS of the L337i27 who like to brag solo is something you earn the right to, but soloing something ive already done as a group lacks any sense of wonder or satisfaction, as does being forced to play a high str/con dwarf or WF to be a mighty warrior.

Worst memory being harrassed by Admin for using the LFM to try and trade, being told its for social use only. Trade is social you bloody tyrants, and those who may not think so or prefer using the auction to try and get insane prices can go leap of Velahs lair without FF. Dont like it add a bloody live trade chat like other MMO have. Trade on the forums takes to much time and is rather annoying to have to log off the game to come check every few hours if there is something you are really trying to get fast.

    missed last week's questions, soo..:
1 If you could thank a Turbine representative for something, what would that something be?
Not having a mental break down and baning everyone on the forums, just to keep all the negative, rule breaking folk silent. That's got to be one of the hardest things to deal with.

2You are captured by an evil NPC. He informs you that he has discovered the ultimate torment for his prisoners. What is the worst thing he could do to you?
Not much really. Joke wise steal all the cookies in my bank. I have a good 2000 or more... But real torture? Hmm.. Blind my character, place me in a room full of barriers, give me full SP and have all my allies hp start dropping. I'm a healer bard who really should be a cleric some days. I'll heal anyone that's in my party, even when they zerg, aggro, are 10 lvl's lower then me, or even a negative rule breaker folk. I just hate seeing peoples health bars drop.

3 Which forum sections do you find you visit the most? Which forum sections do you find you visit the least?

I visit Thelanis, General, Event and sometimes the cupcake musketeers sign-in. Heh.. Everything else... no not really.

4 What are your aspirations for DDO for 2008?
Just keeping going. I want to see DDO 2009.

    This week's questions:

1 When playing any multi-player game, which of the following best describes you?

    * "I try to run some things on my own at first, then I try to rustle up a group once I've investigated."

Yup. That's what I do. Learn the game a little on my own. Then take the first invite or start looking to take invites from others.

2 When you visit community forums, what is your primary interest in doing so? (examples: news from developers, socializing with server mates, at work and can't log in, etc)

Ummm... No real reason really... Think I'm just nosy and like to see what's on the go. Most times I look for a funny post or something like that. Anything for a good laugh.

3 What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?

To many. I've surrounded myself by happy and fun loving people. Plenty of good times with them all. How about my most resent. When Berryman and Optatio made this http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=137878 I went over to see it in game. It makes me a happy w'ittle warforged.

The essence D&D from the PNP days was sitting around a table making stupid jokes with your friends till 2 in the morning. The voice chat and quest structure of DDO recreates this. In my mind, the point of MMOs is the social interaction - otherwise I'd be playing Oblivion or Half-Life. I do occasionally like to solo to explore the content at my own pace (read the quest dialog, admire the landscape, etc.); but for the most part, I prefer groups

New from Developers and a chance to provide input for development

One that just came to mind, perhaps because of your first question, was my first time questing through the catacombs. Shortly after I started playing I hooked up with a PUG that had a hilarious guy with a thick New York accent. Another player was a mother with two Toddlers occasionally chiming in over voice chat. The NY guys was saying something like "You probably haven't had a chance to take a shower, I can see you now with cheerios in your hair and on the floor. That's so hot!!" We were all joking around about how our DDO characters didn't look like us in real life, especially the female elves with cross dressing male players. Goofing around over the voice chat was what made the adventure so much fun (sorry, catacombs is not otherwise my favorite quest). The cool thing about voice chat is that it gives you a better sense that you really are playing with people from all over. It hard to type in a NY accent or catch the goo-goos of toddlers in the background with an LOL. Voice chat makes me feel instantly close to strangers 1000 miles away.

New from the Devs. I used to enjoy socializing with my server mates more until Turbine killed the Xoriat forums. thelanis forums are just not the same and, frankly, are just to tame for a former Xorian.

    Question 3
What is your most happy and/or memorable in-game moment?

Well... many years ago, when I played Everquest, a friend of mine had died IRL. We had a small group of friends in game but nothing major at the time. The GMs, after receiving a request from a friend of ours, posted an in game, cross-server, world wide message for a moment of silence. Now while this may seem like it wouldn't be a happy time it just made me proud of that community that around the world there were people taking that moment of silence in memory of someone they didnt know but all had something in common with.

As for DDO. My most memorable time is easily when D.W.A.T. was formed. Initially we were not a guild. For awhile we were not a guild. We were a collection of people from many, MANY, guilds who would all respond to the call if needed. As a bunch of individuals we accomplished what many guilds couldn't in the early days and our members were called upon to "help" other guilds learn quests and raids. We eventually became a guild because that's what like minded individuals do. But nothing will ever beat those early days when we had the respect of our peers not because we were some Uber guild but because we were those go to guys.

    IMPROVISE. ADAPT. OVERCOME.

Visit: Links from the devtracker. Crafting forums/posts. Server marketplace sometimes.
Don't visit: class forums very often

    Question 4
What are your aspirations for DDO for 2008?

Default DO you know what ever happend to DEMMI?

1: i would like to be a fighter but find my self with weapons that are ifearior to the quest needs almost all the time. as a fighter i have see people
telling to just kill things, dont try to lead. as a cleric i do not mind being the primary healer, but wind up doing it as a starving healer finacially. there are to many well to do "MONEY BAGS" sorcerers that just completely forget how much healling wands, scrolls and rezz scrolls cost.

2: other than going to the development section, i do not have a regular forum.

3: from the madar server... there was this teenager alternate called demmi. i have seen dragon raids fall all apart when some one invited him into it. YES it was painfull to have him in a quest with you but his social life was funny. there was a time when he was playing the game, that people came to his house and beat him up. he did not have the sence to get off the game so we could hear him in RL fight mode.
he was the type of player who just did not care about the exp negative dept. and wound up haveing to redo 20 to 40 thousand exp.
he would die over and over and over. he would come to players with a excited "HEY I FOUND SOME THING TO GIVE YOU". he came over with various monsters for others to fight.

there was another guy who liked to do a impersonations of jack nickles who created a guild called --I'm not right in the head--. he was also funny to be with.
