Default Recovering the Lost Tome quest

ok, i'm pretty sure a lot of people finished this quest on elite while they're still low lvl
the main quest objective is to find the tome and escape
so why is it that a wizard with dimension door have to go through all 3 paths just to get out of the quest?
dimension door => exit, ~gasp~ i'm out of the room! wheee! >_>

um.... cause the book has a magical property to where if it passes through a dimension door and is then exposed to sunlight, the writing in it is faded and illegible? i dunno.

because the quest wasnt expected to be run with a wizard that high in level and why should they get to cheap shot the quest?

Default only thing i can come up with

Because we don't want our lighthouse tender getting bored
up there and waltzing into sonic traps while looking for something
to read? If we didn't have a funtioning lighthouse, how would all
the fresh blood get from newbie harbor to the harbor?

well, since it wasn't designed to have the ddoor present, what's the harm of letting people who came ALL the way back from high-level quest take a bit of shortcut?

because they would have to recode the quest? and also, this would lead to lowbies cheating by leavign someone by the quest enterance and thus when they walk to the door, the quest would be considered over?

and they can't just put in the code they have in ww part 2 where you must have the entire party in the area to continue/finish into the quest?

again, your asking them to spend countless time recoding a quest just because you dont want to spend like 4 minutes on your wizard?

You know, no one is forcing you to run the quest if it bothers you that much. And it would be easier to code that the librarian placed a dimension anchor in his tower so there's no D-Door or Teleport.. period. How's that?

if they do that, i have no complaints =)
it just didn't make sense that i clearly "escaped" the place but i can't complete the **** thing unless i pull 3 levers >_>

    EDIT:
especially when you think you escaped, but you can't finish because you didn't pull 3 levers and you can't go back in, now that's just stupid

And you should be able to teleport out of those instances that require you to run back to the entrance, too. 'Oh no, I'm trapped by a grate in the catacombs, whatever shall I do?' You can't expect the Devs to spend a bunch of time coding a low level quest to account for all the options some bored high leve brings to it. You can see the quest objectives.. And how much time do you save with D-Door anyway? 5 minutes? If even?

hey, don't blame people for trying to find creative ways to get things done
that's what D&D is all about, the possibilites are limited only to how far you can think

This maybe so with imagination and dice... but this is not a table-top we are not surrounded by pieces of paper and dice... it is a computer game there are certain limits... I tell you what how about we get the dev's to also code all the spells right prehaps they could put magical locks in the game... what about magic bags for the halflings because they have wieght restrictions.... wait what about...... The list is endless if you want to keep on going im sure others could help with a list... one simple phrase "get over it".

Agreed that is what DnD is all about.

This is DDO, however, and the possibilities are limited by what the devs can code in the time alloted.
