I got the itch to try DDO again after months away and resumed my account last night. I am unable to login getting the error that I could not connect to the authentication server looks like. Is there a probelm with DDO they are working on? Is this something that happens often? Thanks for any info, just dont want to pay for a month's sub to find out I cant play this any longer.

Ditto... I've gone through the Knowledge Base articles and followed those instructions, no dice.
https://www.ddo.com/ is giving me an invalid certificate error when I try to open it in IE.
Couple hours so far installing, patching, uninstalling, reinstalling, patching, now trying to log in... I'm starting to remember why I quit bothering with Turbine games. This is as bad as when I missed out on the preorder advance play because I couldn't get the game working and there was no tech support.

Im glad I didnt resort to deleting and re-installing... to have to find out its a server problem. So much for welcome back, right?

Okay, I was able to get past this error, and enter my username/password and actually get to the point where I can select a server. Unfortuantely, I'm now getting a Game Error [201] message, which the KB indicates is an unresolved issue.
The steps I took to get past the original error:
1. Open up the Internet Options from the Tools drop-down menu in Internet Explorer.
2. Select the Connections tab.
3. Go to LAN settings.
4. Go to Advanced under Proxy server.
5. Add gls.ddo.com to the list of Exceptions.
6. Click OK on the various popup menus to apply the change.
I don't know if this would work for other people, or if they'll get the Game Error [201] message as well... but I thought I'd share in case it helps someone else.
