    Default Metamagic Feat Location

    I was thinking that metamagic feats could be located on the character sheet under the spells section. When training the feat it would become ungreyed out on the sheet and could be activated there as well. This would free up quick bar slots for many people. Of course u could still pull the feat to a quick bar if u would prefer. What does everyone think?

    It should be possible for players to activate both spells and feats directly from the character sheet.

    Wouldn't it be more annoying and cumbersome to open your character sheet and goto spells just to activate them? Surely no one plays with their character sheet open all the time? and you need to turn these feats of quickly sometimes if you are playing efficiently.

    If you want to improve it and save spell slots you might as well do it properly and have small icons for them under your health bar (for example).

    The best thing they could do for the UI is make it load from xml files that allow the players to customize it how they see fit. While the new skinning was nice to add - from all I have seen it is nothing more than changing the artwork and doesn't allow much flexibility.

    While I love DDO, I am a huge fan of interface design in general, and WoW did a great thing there. Any MMO that is released post-wow and doesn't use a similar system is shooting themselves in the foot.

    While it would be nice to make all these changes people seem to be suggesting for the UI lately, the time would be better spent changing it to a flexible xml or such system like it should have been in the first place. Hell once that's done it makes it so much easier for developers to make changes as well.

    Live and learn I guess!

    Anyhow this is my opinion on the whole thing, there just seem to be a lot of random UI change requests lately that wouldn't exist with a better system. Such is life.

    Default OK thts a good idea but

    A more customizable user interface would be nice. As far as turning metamagic on and off, from many of the casters I have talked to, that just does not happen. Many of the feats once turned on never get turned off. Now as I said u can still pull the feat to yr quick bar to turn it on and off but only the ones u need 2 the rest could be on the character sheet under the spells section as I described.

    Ultimately i would prefer they changed the spells so the metamagic feats were on the spells themselves and could be selected. This would be important I think if they ever got around to adding energy substitution or admixture.

    I mean realistically if u have haste and extend ru ever going to cast it unextended? I am throwing out some ideas to improve the interface for casters and if u like the idea say so if not say y not. Ty for the input those who have posted and any who do.

    Yeah that would be nice, what they could do is have each spell listed in your spell book with a column for each feat to be toggled on/off. So every time you cast that spell you cast it with the appropriate feat that is ticked.
