Just took a rank on this to improve my ac but it didnt affect it. Should have added +1 with an 18 dex.Can a dev tell me whether this works on wf with admantine body or if this is a bug?

As MT pointed out, most likely the max dex on your tower shield is affecting your AC bonus. You might need a tower shield enhancement.

why the hell do they give this to dwarves and not elves? how does it make sense that a dwarf is more in tune with his armor and his dex than an elf? i think they should split it up and give the dwarf AM for medium and heavy armor and give the elves AM for light armor.

the fighter AM is fine, but the racial enhancement AM does not seem right to me.

Umm, never thought FAM affected Warforged, but neve considered it either. The enhancement is supposed to affect armor, but since it is a feat that is limiting you, it may not be intended to work.

I didn't think warforged were affected by max dex limitations on any of their body types.

You shouldn't have to worry about the enhancements, you should get the AC just from the dex bonus.

It is...

Mithral Body
Mithral body counts as light armor and grants a +5 armor bonus, but also provides a 15% arcane spell failure chance, -2 armor check penalty to certain skills, and a +5 maximum Dex bonus.

Adamantine Body
Adamantine body counts as heavy armor, grants a +8 armor bonus and damage reduction 2/adamantine, but also provides a 35% arcane spell failure chance, -5 armor check penalty to certain skills, and a +1 maximum Dex bonus.


I think you do get the full dex bonus for the Basic Plating though.

Right, and with 18 dex you would get full dex bonus from Mithral too. Which is why I asked which body feat he's got.

Now, this is a total bummer, as I am the one who suggested in the WF Race forum that it should work.

I know Mithral Body WF can take Mithral Fluidity feats to improve max DEX with their Mithral plating. But, I see no reason FAM wouldn't work for a WF with an Adamantine Body. Another way the Cannith blokes are trying to keep the WF down!

If not, then the enhancement should have a requirement of "Race Absolutely Prohibited: Warforged" like the poison and disease save boosting ones.

Hey, good point! Thame, if you're not getting more than +1 DEX bonus to AC, please submit a bug report.

FAM works on titanium plating.

I just got the third tier on my wf ftr/wiz and my AC increased.

The other enhancement, which lowers armour check penalty also works for things like balance, I tested it to make sure I wasn't wasting like half my APs on these enhancement lines...

FAM works for WF. My adamantine body WF fighter has had FAM and it does increase my ac so long as I keep wearing my dex boots.

Wow, does FAM work with Mithril Fluidity? Stack those feats with FAM, and it may beat the max dex of a dwarf >.>
