Halfling Backstory

I am developing a backstory for my halfling Breccar. I don't really know much about halfling culture, their homeland or anything about them really. I am fairly new to the D&D world so I am looking to you more experienced role players to help me out here.

Is your halfling a city halfling or a country halfling? Is he dragonmarked? How much/little do you know of the lore/story of the Eberron setting in D&D?

Most halflings tend to grow up in barbarian communities in the Talenta Plains where they ride tamed dinosaurs (velociraptors if I recall correctly). Their city dwellers however run several guilds and dragonmarked houses, the two main are Jorasco, the house of healing which halflings are one of the races that can be marked with it in PnP D&D (and the only race in DDO), and Ghallanda(which exists only as a server name in DDO), the house of hospitality where they run inns and pubs. There's other stuff which hopefully someone more knowledgable can help you with, and of course in Eberron the ability to do your own thing is encouraged, so experiment.
