i pulled a +3 scimitar of smiting no RR min lvl 14 the other night and was wondering what items are considered of like value.

Due to a scimitar having an 18-20 crit range, the best in the game, you are sitting on one of the best possible smiters you could pull.

Don't take anything under half a million plat for it.

The only weapons worth much more than that smiter are wounding//puncturing weapons, adamantine smiting scimitars/rapiers (better hardness) and some of the best possible greater banes (e.g. +1 holy burst silver *** of greater lawful outsider bane).

I would agree with Sirgog. I have a shock smiting scimi and a smiting kukri, and I don't think I would ever trade them away. Would have to be a spectacular trade for me to part company with that pair.

Smiters are a little less valuable than they were with the introduction of the Vale content, as there are no constructs (except for the golems in Rainbow but still).

Still a very nice item, but I don't think nearly as valuable as a Banishing Rapier.

Epics are a dime a dozen now, and smiters are very situational, probably the least used of the epics. It's no where in the realm of w/p anything, it's more along the value of a good +6 stat ring.

Things may change with new mods... heck there was a time when banishing rapiers were debated as being close to worthless on end game content.

i had a +1 banishing rapier a few months ago and everyone made it sound worthless. I was glad to get 300k plat off auction house, but now wish i still had it.

I'm saying that to make sure he doesn't get ripped off. I have a smiting scimitar (only +1 tho) and it's the only so-called 'epic' I'll never trade.
