Maybe it's all the 300lbers walking around in mumus that give robes a bad name
You ever try to throw a kick or do other such katas in a robe? Maybe if you have a good belt and the robe is extra wide, it wont be so bad.

If they gave you catwoman suits, the guys who roll female characters will just be there staring at their characters.

Oh, my kingdom for a pair of woolen breeches and a cotton shirt!

Hear me, benevolent gods of Eberron! I am a rogue! I have practiced years (check my account, I ain't kidding) to hone my skills, and now that even padded armor inhibits my deft movements, I am left with two subpar choices of attire for a rogue; the robes of the rear-rank classes, or my undergarments.

Please answer my simple request and give me back my dignity; give me some pants.

No whining, unless you're serving really good cheese. Otherwise, put a cork in it.
