    Default everyone makes mistakes...

So some friends and I were power leveling a few characters - I just got to level 12 after a very hard 3 days of grinding out experience as fast as possible for us. I made a warforged wizard with a charisma of 6. When I had enough experience to get to level 12, in a rush to get back to farming out the Crucible for experience, I quickly teleported to the portable hole and ran up to the first trainer I saw...I'm used to using the sorcerer trainer (i have 2 capped sorcs)....and I accidentally took a level of sorcerer instead of wizard. I might add that this was at 3 am after a long day.

I put a ticket in - of course the GM couldn't do anything I understand why they don't permit people to change classes once selected, but can I say deleting a character after that much effort because of one hasty click - seems so unfair!

This post is more for a venting of my frustration - and perhaps something useful will come of it.

p.s. i couldn't even cast a level 1 sorcerer spell because my charisma was 6

ya, doh. Thats gotta suck. I feel for you. If you've only had the character for 3 days a reroll doesn't seem like a bad option. I'm sure you couldn't have to many bound items/favor rewards etc in a 3 day time period.

i kept on wondering why they were asking me to select level 1 spells again but I thought it was a bug of some sort because i inscribed all of them already. When I looked at my spell slots after I accepted and saw that I didn't get any new spells I was like ???? and my friend jokingly asked if i took sorc instead. Then I noticed the sorc tab and knew what had happened....doh!

of course now I think it would be a great idea for an option to revert back to the earlier level/class - on a timer 30 mins, 1 hour, before u gain 1 experience pt, or whatever = so as to help prevent these immediate mistakes.

They really should allow respecing of class levels; not only because of human error cases like this, but also because the developers have often retroactively modified the abilities of a class long after it was released.

Ask anyone with a fighter1/ranger15 how that feels.

It's true it would be silly to allow people to just redo all their classes any time they want, so it should work one level at a time, and reduce your XP as well. You talk to a special trainer, pick one of your existing class levels, confirm "Yes I am very sure" a few times, and then lose both that level and one level worth of XP. So

(Also, for best results, quests for which you have "ransacked" XP from repetition counters should be reset, for quests below a certain level of you)

Anything is possible to a tired mind. Never level up right before bed. Level up after getting back up.

Rollback button is likely going to be ignored.

I still want a Reroll Package set up so I can mail all my bound items to a new character.

I wouldn't mind a pay for Rebuild option. Like Advanced Works special option. Sorta like the option to buy an extra character slot.

$24.99 Rebuild the character from character creation through current xp total, hit accept, confirm, confirm again, all Bound items stay bound, all tomes get used at corresponding levels

Basically you have a character creator with preset Tomes (spent at the levels you read them)but other than that you rebuild from the ground up base stats and everything... even changing race and name if you so desire

Rule 2: Its all small stuff
Rule 3: People are stupid. You, me everyone... expect it
more rules to come in a different sig
