    Default Green Steel Weapon

    What looks to be the best Green Steel weapon to make for a Barbarian ???

    I have a max DPS THF build. I am trying to decide between the Maul and Greatsword. I have Improved Crit Slashing, so the extra crit range on the Greatsword would be nice. But the Maul has the x3 multiplier which is also nice.

    Has anyone built their Green Steel item for their Barbarian ???

    Yeah the x3 is nice but you'll crit 4x as much with the greatsword. Go greatsword.

    I am in the same situation. Imho the maul animation seem to swing faster compare to the greatsword. So i think i will go with the maul...

    Maul = 20/x3, 18-20/x3 with Crit Rage. = 6 extra damage doses
    Greatsword = 19-20/x2, 17-20/x2 with ImpCrit, 15-20/x2 with Crit Rage. = 6 extra damage doses.

    They are the same for crits. Maul does 2d8, swings slightly faster (81 swings per minute). Greatsword does 3d8 and swings slightly slower (76 swings per minute). The two weapons are largely equal.

    Thanks for the input Mad. Some questsions though...

    How do you calculate the 6 extra damage doses ?

    In the end, the item will have an elemental effect and bursting effect. Does that make a difference in the calculations ?

    Nope...the hope is that when you complete the raid 20 times it is one of your end reward options. Nothing confirmed yet.

    Extra damage doses is thus. Maul with 18-20/x3 crits 3 times. 3x3 = 9. But, 3 of those were hits anyway, so subtract 3 to see how many damage doses were extra. 9-3 = 6 extra damage doses from crits.
    Greatsword is 15-20/x2 crits 6 times. 6x2 = 12. But, 6 of those were hits anyway, so subtract 6 to see how many damage doses were extra. 12-6 = 6 extra damage doses from crits.

    Elemental effect is the same +1d6 per hit. And Bursts are equal for these weapons, as well (in the hands of a Barb with CritRageII). Maul will add 3*(+2d10) or +6d10. Greatsword will add 6*(+1d10) or +6d10.

    here's a thread discussing lack of Green Steel Greataxes.

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=135929

    Hope anyone who's been following the Shade/Illuminati max TWF threads finds it as funny as I did...
