Default Losing your Character Slots !! Grrr

Ok.... I dont do forums.. i play and love the game and that is where my focus lays. I have played since 2006.. After the server's merged. .which was not a decision i was able to make.. All 12 of my characters ended up on Thelanis.
    That is fine.
Can somebody please show me where Turbine told us if i delete a charater that was around before the merge i would lose the slot..
Over this last month i have tried to 'reroll' a couple of toons as at today i am back to 10 characters... all i can get out of the GM's is 'we would like to inform you may only have 9 characters on one account' (one world, i know i could go back and create more on another world)
Right now I would actually have to delete 2 more to reroll one. .which is a loss of 4 characters for me. .i am sorry, that is not very good customer service at all.. i am pretty ropeable right now. i want to stay on Thelanis where my guild is, i pay for the game and have for a long time now... Pen and paper was not restricted to how many characters i could have and this just annoys me..
12-15 would be ok.. but 9 ???? you have no room to move..or experiment..
I like building pure classes. .so i have currently a rogue lvl 15, sorc lvl 16, ranger (bow user) lvl 16, pali lvl 13, fighter lvl 16, bard lvl 16, cleric (healer orig 28pt)lvl 16 ,Cleric (spell spec'd)lvl 16, cleric (reroll for 28pt healer only lvl 6 atm), pal/sorc (experiment) lvl 8

I want to build a pure wizzy, a barb, and you cant just delete a 16 level to to start over right away, you need to get the lowbie up high enough to pass what gear you can over ect..
Turbine i emplore you 9 is just not enough for the players who have been around since launch (or just after). . yes 9 probably is enough for a casual gamer but give me a break... how about some customer service, rather than just shut down my in game tickets with that lame excuse, you merged my world then start shutting down my options. .great.
I probably come across whinny, and i apologise for my outburst but i dont know how to get through to you Turbine. . . . .

Anyone else out there experience this ?

    Here

    and

    Here

Btw, I'd advise you not to reply to either one of those posts, because doing so would be necromancy, which while it is not against the forum rules would be frowned upon.

    Thanks san'tar.

    It is still bulldonkey.

It has been a hell of a long time since all that happened and maybe it is time to revisit it.

To get around it. .and it is a pain in the backside... i got a second copy of the game and opened another account.
Great now i pay $40-50 Aussie per month (depending on exchange). .have to load totally out and in to simply move gear or play a new toon. Turbine 1 - Customer service 0

    OP out. .im over it...

Prior to MOD 6 I had a total on Khyber with merged toons + favor + moved character from Lhazaar total of 13 character slots open to me. So long as I had less than 13 I could create new toons.

MOD 6 changed this it seems. I found out the hard way by trying to create a 32 pointer with a name that I had reserved, and not being able to create any more after I deleted one of my toons.

The number of actual slots available for character creation has never been lowered (only raised w/ certain conditions). The conditions that allow for more characters (having characters transferred from one server to another or from the shard merge) never raised the actual number of creation slots available, rather they just raised the number of current slots.

it's my understanding you could also move a character to another server (for a one-time fee). still have to log in and out to switch servers (which is a pain) but it's doable and will be cheaper in the long run.

another option is to take advantage of the new 6 month subscription sale they have right now. saves you 33% off the standard monthly rate.

That's not accurate, I can say that MOD 6 has either intentionally or unintentionally cost me one character slot.

My "cap" going into MOD6 was 13 slots open to me. I had recently unlocked the 32 point build and I deleted 2 of my characters to use their names. A few days after MOD6 came out I tried to delete a third character to recycle a 28 point character as a 32 pointer but I no longer had the ability to create any more.

    7 (base) + 1 (400 favor) + 1 (1750 favor) = 9 character slots.

For whatever reason, you had more characters than slots. 13 (starting) - 2 (deleted) - 1 (deleted) = 10 characters. And you still have more characters (10) than slots (9). You need to delete 2 more (down to 8 characters) to have an open slot to make a new character. At this time, if you want more than 9 characters, you need to create them on a different server or subscribe a second account on the same server.

    Thumbs down

I don't feel bad for the OP at all. You talk about experimenting with new builds, but you have...what? *3* Clerics? Come on. Obviously if you were that interested in variety, you wouldn't have three characters of the same pure class. You're telling me you can't afford to drop *one* of your Clerics in favor of making something new? I mean...the difference between Cleric builds, provided you have a high Wis & Cha, is only in the Feats & Enhancements, both of which are exchangeable. Sure, it's pricey, but you have what? 6 lvl 16's? I'm sure you are ok for money. "I want variety! I have 7 Clerics with varying stats, but I want one that has one more point of STR and one less point of DEX who has Exotic Wpn: Khopesh as a feat and a slightly different hairstyle! Please, Devs, help me out!! You leave me no room to try new things!!" Haha...yeah.
