Dimension Door : What's with it?

Firewall, Dim Door, Solid Fog and stoneskin . Wouldn't consider trading any of them out...ever.

DD allows quick travel in many quests. It's quite situational, I'll agree, but it works well.

Titan, Green puzzle can be solo'd with DD. (I do it all the time.)
VoN4 can be duoed easily with DD and someone to stand at the lever to let you in/out a few times. Or go with a full group and only send one person to one side to pull the lever and DD out.
VoN5, DDing from either side after finishing a puzzle or getting Otto's ring.

Realistically now, it's just a timesaver. I'm sure people have come up with entertaining ways to exploit it, but at its core it's just a huge timesaver for those of us who are trying to finish things fast.

VON 4 can be soloed with no Dim Door.....

Actually if they ever bring DDoor scrolls back, I'll get Stone Skin then. 'Til then DDoor has proven to be more useful than I ever thought it would be. When my sorc six sense tells me we're close to a party wipe, I throw a ddoor up, and immediately you see the whole party taking it Back to sqaure one, shrine (if possible) go back where you left off. Makes Tor elite scale runs much, much, much easier....mostly if you have the bad fortune to get a Zerg/Spazz in the group.

That is because he is still learning how to play his Sorc. I would never trade out Jump, Displacement, and Haste. These are the most defining spells between good casters and bad casters...I gaurantee you.

Edit, DD is great for solo play and has a few uses elsewhere but not really a spell I would call mandatory.

Had PK forever and loved it. Don't need it now at 16. And despite what Sonyaa says - I wouldn't get PK back at this point no matter what. It is not needed by me.

So does walking to the exit. Still not sure what is so big about DDoor other then a time saver.

Im having a hard time believing that you've never experienced what a Ddoor can do for you and your party.

Not calling you a liar, just really perplexed that you've never hit ddoor to get out of a bad situation.

But I use fireshield instead of stoneskin (and wand SS).

Why? halves incoming fire or cold damage for the same length of time as a haste/displace.

Its nice to take 150 damage from a DBF in the shroud instead of 300....

All the spells you listed are great spells that have huge advantages...that is the fun of being a Sorc, it is so hard to choose and honestly 4th level spells are the best spells of all the levels. I think I would keep PK though...it is cheap and effective when you learn who it works good against.

Its nice to take 150 damage from a DBF in the shroud instead of 300....

Just avoid getting hit by the fireball and drop the spell. OR, look high and low for a fire sheild clickie.

TBH There's nothing worth swapping Fireshield for.

Especially when I can get over 3 minutes of damage-halving goodness from the one spell.

Oh, and it gets real hard to dodge DBFs with insane lag while trying to cast spells too...
