Default New player. Question about Wiz and Dexterity.

Does dexterity affect the ability to hit with any of the ranged spells? This may be a simple common sense question, but with the definitions I've seen online include mentioning certain weapons but not spells. I see no reason for them not to include mentioning certain ranged spells for those of us not as versed in DnD.

They do not in DDO. It relies more on your abbility to face and target your opponent. There are no touch attacks for spells in DDO, but you can miss with them by virtue of aiming or targets dancing around.

So wizards don't really need dex for anything unless you want to fight or are worried about reflex saves etc...

Thanks for the reply sigtrent. I guess if someone is worried a bout reflex saves though they could just use the insightful reflexes feat instead and maybe raise con or something else they find more beneficial. The only thing offhand i noticed involving DEX may have been mobile casting, but I personally don't see this as being worth all the investment.

Dex does help for reflex saves which is good when you get a delayed blast fireball cast at you and take no or little damage cause you have resist fire 30 and you make your save.

Int (as high as you can get for DC)
Con (every little bit helps as you have almost none)
Dex (help to AC and saves, not much but better than nothing)
Wis (helps with those pesky will saves that put you out of action)
