    Default shroud on hard

well we went in on hard last night and i have to say there is a big difference from normal, the raid is a blast very intense we did pretty good for first time on hard got all the way to part 4 and learned alot, the only problem i see is the amount of scrolls and pots needed to complete this raid on the higher levels will make it not worth the effort. i was on my cleric and burned 346 heal scrolls and 12 mana pots the other clerics used about the same, imho the resorces needed to complete on hard or elite far outway any reason to complete it. anyone else been in there on hard and if so what was your resorce consumption and how far did you get thanks akla

I was talking about this with people earlier.

I think we have to remember that we're still new in regards to lvls and equipment.

Once people start going into the raid with 12 capped characters, all with crafted items, and the experience and strategy of many completed shroud raids on normal, the resources used up at hard and elite setting will drastically come down.

We have to remember that a lot of people are going into the raid now w/ a mix of lvl 15s and 16s, all with lvl 12/14 items. We have to use a lot of consumables now b/c we're going in there w/ inferior equipment, into still a new raid (even if beaten), with characters that haven't maxed their lvls/aps.

Gotta agree with Mhykke. Once we've got this raid down on normal, then hard will become much easier and then finally elite will become just like an elite SR run only longer. We'll all be capped, heavily twinked and bored again but it will be just as easy.

that will make a small difference im sure but i bet only 20-30% less so thats still alot of guild money going up in smoke that could be spent elsewhere

I don't know, it just seems to me to be a bit early to be having this discussion....After a month or 2, when more people have the raid beaten consistently, when people start going in there with more powerful items, if it's still as tough, then maybe then.....But right now, I don't know, just seems we have a ways to go yet.

I think it was more the smash-mouth tactic we were using that made it so resource-intensive. As stated above, we'll polish it out over time.

Didn't the 6 ranger party spend very little in consumables in the whole raid on hard? Except, of course, for ****loads of arrows.

Think this may come down to tactics.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Sounds like gear experience issue. Did on elite with each cleric using about 100 scrolls and 4 or so pots. The rangers and rogues used about 50 scrolls and my sorc repaired its ass off. We had 1 WF tank on purpose and I don't think a cleric had to heal him the whole 5 parts as I was assigned to haste, enfeeble, GH, and follow the WF tank around like a puppy. It wasn't real excighting but the loot was good.

    Yeah, it could be that.

Or it could be the quote you grabbed was from about 2 weeks after the raid was released.

    QFT.

Can't for the life of me figure out why people can't seem to grasp the obvious .

    Considering the amount of times this has already been stated;

I'm betting it gets at least three to four more clueless posts .

I have found completion on hard to be very smooth when cleric to tank ratio is 1/1.. if you have 3 clerics and 3 melee on the fiend and the rest ranging ( preferrably with tier 3 lightning or transmuting bows ) it's not too much of a problem. Also if you have the rangers only shooting him when clerics get low on mana, 2 can use the pools as the north have problobly dried up. You need to time this out to use the south pools of course. Also, I have no way to confirm this but our theory ( IFV's) is that the longer the pit fiend is in the beams before you kill the 4 mini bosses the more hp he has ( hence the " I grow stronger by the minute" quote in his speech). We try to get the first 3 killed fast and get to fight ing him asap so hurry up using pools before you fight him. GL ...
