    Default Chest loot transfer revisited

I really like the current option of being able to give chest loot directly to another party member.

    However...

    1) Giving items over to other members who are already running off, and don't come back for em...
    2) People who won't take time to reallocate items piece by piece (like gems)...

In the first case, it's grumping cuz *I* woulda used/sold the item (scroll/wand/etc), but wanted to help the local team. Lost the option once I allocated it to them.
In the second, folks just get in a hurry/ are impatient. Even guildies...

I suggest (again?) that there be an option to surrender loot you don't want, all with one click. A "Donate" button which will open any remaining loot in the chest allocated to you to be grabbable by anyone. This would allow us to regrab any loot we gave to someone else that they have left behind - as well as making it less painful for those of the second group to click/donate and hurry along.

Would be nice if transfering something to someone sent a message to that effect in party chat
(party): New Loot! Lithic the Almighty has given you his +1 vicious quarterstaff of deception!

Im not crazy about the second suggestion though (about putting your leftovers in "anyone" mode), only because many are like me and open a chest and click till I get the "you do not own that item" message pops up. In your suggestion, I would end up ninja--ing everything in the chest even though I prob wouldnt want it (I just cant stand leaving anything in the chest, even 10 eagle feathers, or 10 bull dung).

    I agree 100%.

Although I am a Paladin (noone gives stuff to the fighters) I think that your idea is great.

I refuse to give anyone anything anymore....90% of the time they dont stay around to see it and none
of us get the item (or the gold that would come from selling it). I still get people who watch what I pick up and then
panhandle the items off of me, but they are uber zerging into the next section by that time anyway.

A popup would be kewl, like player 1 is leaving x item in the chest for u, if you would like to retrieve it click yes. Honestly most of the time I dont bother Unless someone asks or if I'm with a guildie, because I could just sell it and usually someone not asking for it specifically just sells it neways.

That would be nice for sure.

What I'm doing since this option is out is, everytime I know I won't carry such or such things (like armors on dex based toons with not much STR), I'll simply assign them to the party cleric to help with the funds.

That kinda irritates me when I see someone leave a lvl 12 item in a chest and not asking anyone if they want it.

That could fix these situations. But then we would probly find out most ppl are way too lazy to click on the "Donate" button lmao

Something I would very much like to change:

Raid Chest Loot. On Exit if anything is left by players in the chest and it is allocated to them, the loot needs to be reassigned to a random member still in the dungeon.

We've lost about 8 pieces of raid loot so far to mixups in the reassignments. Being that said pieces drop at a 3.2% rate on Elite and a 1.82% rate on Normal, I'd say this is a pretty big problem.

The 3 changes needed to chest reassignment.
    1. When you assign an item to a player, he automatically gets a message to that effect.
    2. There is an "ANY" option in the dropdown menu, allowing you to put up an item for whoever clicks on it first.
    3. There is a prominent "Unclaim All" button at the bottom of the chest window, which you can click to immediately set all your items to ANY. The existence of that button should be toggled in the gameplay preferences.

One more change that will be mildly fun, but isn't needed:
    4. There is a "RANDOM" option in the dropdown menu, allowing you to assign an item to a random player without taking the time to have everyone make a bunch of /roll commands. However, if the randomly-chosen player hasn't grabbed the item within a certain number of seconds (like 10), it re-randomizes, and does that until it has cycled all players, at which point it settles on ANY.

Had that happen to me on a Raid. Two Stormreaver amulets dropped, one given to one person, and I was giving the other to another person. When I went to change ownership to give it to someone else, someone in the party actually dropped at the moment my mouse was in the list of people to select from. It ended up shifting the list as I was clicking and then it went to someone else, who was already outside. So that amulet went to no one.

I usually assign it to folks that haven't gotten to the chest yet, or anyone that is still lingering nearby.

    How about this:
The chest itself has a selection, just like each loot item does. If you use the chest selection, it assigns all of your loot remaining in the chest.

Add to the list "Any" and "Random". "Any" makes the loot available to any party member, and "Random" rolls amongst all other party members.

I am sure that I am one of CD's reasons for this post LOL.

All that run with me know that I have inventory/bank space issues and will leave stuff behind because I cannot pick it up.

So, when I run with CD and Phil, and a couple of others, I will usually just pass the stuff off to them.

Last night, I passed something to Phil in the final chest and he had already left the dungeon.

A way to retrieve the item once it has been passed on would be nice.

Maybe even a recall button or some such.

I'd like to see something like this.

    1) an <any> option in the user selection list.
    2) prevent assigning items to people not in the quest.
    3) items assigned to people who were in quest, but have left and dropped group, should auto assign to <any> option.
    4) an assign all my items to <any> button.

It drives me nuts to see some of the stuff that people leave behind. I'm not gready enough to ask them to come back and give me their junk, but it'd nice if they could just dump it if they wanted to.

I'd also like to have abandoned loot become available to everyone else in the quest, however we need to be *very careful* about how it's done. We need positive confirmation that they didn't just lag out or glitch.

I'm thinking about the recall/finish button having a confirmation dialog that includes a checkbox or alternate button for "leave, and abandon all my unclaimed loot" after someone checks that, all thier unclaimed loot changes to "any", including any loot that you try to assign them once they are gone.

The interface needs to be very specific about what it does, and yet be not too much trouble to use.

    Default Suggestion

I think for my part the only viable option here would be that when you do reassign loot to someone, you may still be able to loot or reassign this item again - this would avoid assigning to the wrong person or assigning to someone who has left the instance or isn't gonna check before leaving the instance. The OP's second option just doesn't work for me as it sort of gives an advantage to the ninja clicker person who would keep clicking on the first item in the chest no matter if it's his or not just to get any reassigned items....
