Just a problem on Thelanis huh? We'll if I wasn't to lazy to learn how to post photos, I'd snap some screen shots on Argo, Khyber and Sarlona that would prove that it's not just our server that has this issue. I play on those servers every once in a while and things seem about the same to me. Next you'll be telling us how our auction house pricing is WAY outta wack.

I have to agree here - this is not just a Thelanis problem. As Ministry said its an ignorance issue and hopefully people will learn. I haven't seen too many "no battle cleric" messages in the lfm's. Lately I haven't even been looking at the lfm's at all. Either I'm with guildies or friends or solo'ing.

Well, that could be the one server that doesn't have the problem, but odds would have it that it's similar to the rest.

As far as your second comment, don't worry, some of us here do have Clerics...sans the God complex.

A God Complex. I love it.

Clerics are not heal bots. They are not a portable heal vendor.

If some believe that then it is obvious they do not know how to play a cleric. Just because I refuse to be dictated to on how I play a cleric does not mean I have a god complex.

There is always the option of forgoing having a "TRUE CLERIC" in the group such as myself and they can bring all the heal pots they want. If a clerics skills lie only in healing, it is my opinion that the cleric needs to be rerolled. A True Cleric, should be able to melee, cast, heal and crowd control all to a certain degree. Fortunatly all of those skills are not mutually exclusive.

In the end though, it is MY blue bar, and I shall decide how it is best used, and if that means somebody who is soaking up resources needs to die a few times, well maybe they will reevaluate how they are playing.

I find it surprising that people in the harbor think they need a cleric at all.

But like someone said, if they are looking for a cleric, I assume they want a healer, so I avoid those groups with my battlecleric.
Actually, I apply to those groups looking for a tank and try to convince them to take me instead......most groups will not turn down another cleric even though it's not what they think they need.

i am part of a warforged barbs/wiz static party. since only 5 of us we usually grab a rogue or bard. having played many level capped characters (one is a cleric) i find it refreshing NOT to invite clerics. I find they have bad attitudes in general, and feel they are more important than everyone else, in general. Free yourself of the tyrrany of clerics and go warforged! then you will like battle clerics, cause they fight and heal themselfs.

I would hope so since I have been here since the outset of the game. But please feel free to dictate to me in your entire what 6 to 7 months here.

I now have 2 clerics within one rank of being capped and I am in process of rolling a third. I happen to lead some of the smoothest runs of quests on my server. I am willing to PUG my cleric (and do quite often) to help newer people learn newer content.

I roll up characters and keep them in the harbor to assist new people to the game.

Pray tell what I need to figure out....... No worries, I will wait but I doubt you will respond unless it is flippantly.

No MOST of it is FACT. My opinions though at the moment cannot be stated here, as they would be violations of the TOS and as such would not serve ME well.

The fact that you think clerics should be relegated to healing and buffing is an opinion, and one that I would equate to having little basis in logic.

Yes I have characters on Thelanis.

To that end I have been here for 2 years, and have 24 (at last count) characters between the 5 servers. I only advertise Fernia (aka Ghallanda) because that is my home server and the one I like best.

I expect everyone to keep a map and party health bars displayed on their screens and to know when a party member needs help, and to do all they can to help them.

If you can use wands, do so....if you can UMD a raise, do so.
Carry healers kits.......or something to help an incapped party member.
Wiz/Sor/Pallies........carry wands of remove curse....
UMD lesser restores.....etc.

Everyone should try to fight in a way that keeps them alive without mommy Cleric saving their butt all the time.

Follow these rules, and you wont need a cleric......

Clerics are nice......makes things easy.

Life's not easy.....grow up and become self sufficient.

Only Ftrs, Brbs and Wizies cannot buy cheap healing wands....everyone should be able to help out a friend in need.

Oh.......especially Battleclerics!

You got healing spells....you cant get rid of em......if you got mana left, use em if the party needs em.

My Battlecleric hates being everyone's mommy, but sometimes it's just gotta be that way.

6 or 7 months? Hmmm...not sure where you got that. Obviously you must have used flawed logic and saw the date I created a forum profile. I'll give you a pass on that one.

Capped a Cleric? Yep, done that myself every time they increase the max level. I always have at least 3 Clerics myself. Not exactly a noob myself.

Assist new people? Check. I've spent more than a few minutes in the Wavecrest and the harbor area, so I guess there are at least two of us in this game that try to help people out.

I'm not sure where you came up with this as being my opinion on Clerics, but it's wrong too. I do think healing is an important part of a Cleric's job, but I know that some people may not agree. It's my opinion. Buffs? Show me a post where I advocated Clerics being buff-bots. You won't find one. As a Cleric I heal, kill, crowd control and throw a buff here and there as needed. To me it's logical to know someone's opinion on something before you belittle it.

Since you have alts on Thelanis, look me up sometime and you can witness my style of play. I'm not saying I'm the best Cleric around (never have and I've seen better) but I'm not too shabby.
