Default Mod 6 Screenshots from Devs

saw some interesting stuff on the web just thought i could share it here. noticed the hp bar on the top left area, -4496/152 hp. i dont know about you devs but i certainly wouldnt test game with death immunity on. be more realistic, what have you concluded when you play it with out needing heals. "don't die" okay so of course you cannot die there so you dont have to worry about death penalty and such.what about us players are you going to make us death immune too? LOL. -4.5k hp in a quest that takes how many non item enhanced heal spell from 1 single cleric? say a cleric can heal 200pts of damage per heal that would be 22 casts heal spell costs how many spell points? 35 points 22 times 35 equals 770 so youre saying that cleric have to spend near all of his/her spell points on one player? dont forget there are usually 6 players in party and 12 in raids. take 6 people as an example -4500 times 6 people equals -27000 who in the world has that much spell point to keep up with the heals?

Not gamespy. And not a dev.

This is what i gauged from reading the review:
+Elvenranger is just a quick dev-generated toon they let the editors from massively.com play. From the sounds of his review he barely played DDO before, if ever and thus most likely sucked. That would explain the near 5000 damage he took in the new raid.

Now we can hope the devs are better then that - tho of the other 5 party members only tolero (a former DDO player) has positive HP heh.

But yea in a sense i agree, I do not believe the devs themselves beat the content they create legitamately - I mean they dont have 12 real gamers amoung them to do so properly.

But thats the reason the mournlands test server exists.

and really 4500 dmg is not beyond what a lvl16 cleric should be able to handle.

A correctly geared lvl14 cleric heals for 399 - that will go up a bit at lvl15.. So it will take about 10-11 empowered heals to do that - thats nothing to the seasoned healing cleric.

They aren't testing the game, they're previewing the zones to gaming sites.

In any case, I'd be surprised if they tested for balance with invuln on, although some would probably be surprised to discover they test for balance at all

As others have said, they arent testing, just messing around. God mode probably helps alot when you need to write notes for an article, chat about what you are seeing, and generally are a DDO doofus

Personally I feel there will eventually be a shift in that to where a cleric is going to realize they no longer have to press thier characters hard to be healers ... they'll eventually realize thier spell casting and melee capability will make them a more formidable character when balanced out thus allowing them to be more forefronted and less a party support character. In the future levels the cleric will rival the wizard and sorc in the spell department and is as capable in melee as any other melee barring the barb given todays enhancement system.
