    Default Rogue/Bard

    Heya everyone,

I'm still pretty new to DDO and I wanted to make a rogue/bard combo I was planning on starting with bard untill level 2 then go pure rogue.
My question is, when I turn level 3 and put my first level into rogue do I automatically get disable device?
and if I can get any suggestions regarding this combo either good or bad.
    Thanks

First suggestion is you should make rogue your first level. You will get the most skill points this way and get all of you rogue skills off to a better start. It will be easier to catch up for your non-rogue levels.

Personaly as far as the Rogue/Bard goes I've tried it a couple of time and lost interest. (Just not my type of character.) There are some around and if it is what you want to try go for it. You should also ask in the Bard thread as they may also be able to give you some advice.

If you take any, take at least 7 levels of Bard. That's when the bard gets his 2 best spells: haste and diplacement.

I cant see what 1 level of bard gets you on a rogue. You already get UMD. You can UMD wands and scrolls, which are a lot better than the crappy level 1 bard spells. You get a cc song which everyone ignores while they cast AOE spells and swing around big 2-handers. You get a buff song which is useless in the end game.

Better off going mostly bard or no bard at all IMO. You would get a lot more out of a single level of fighter or barbarian.

As a player of many, many bard variants, I agree with geezee. If you want some bard, take it a fair way, don't just splash it.

You can make a pretty decent "bard/splash rogue" because bards get good skill points. But if you primarily want to be a rogue there are much better classes to splash than bard.

However, leaving aside power build questions you could have a blast with a bard/rogue through the lower end content. I rolled a rogue 2/sorc1/bard 2 permadeath character who was great fun and quite a good solo build. **** I hate those ogres...

IMO Bard splash rogue is the way to go for a bard rogue mix as well. I have a Drow 1-Rog/9-Bard who doesn't have any problem with traps and can do all the normal bard stuff.

If you want to play primarily a rogue and you have high CHA 2-3 levels of Paladin can be a great splash.

1 level +1 to AC and Saves (plus smite)
2 levels gets you Divine Grace for a nice Saving throw bonus (plus lay on hands).
3 levels gets you fear immunity (plus a second lay on hands from enhancements)
