Default Add Explorer and Slayer to Tempest Spine and Stormcleave

On my wish list, I would like to see Explorer and Slayer, etc., added to existing quests such at Tempest Spine and Stormcleave. One reason that I would like to see this is that I occasionally go into these zones just to play around. With stormcleave, I will take my tweaked out halfing and go in and kill stuff, grab a cave chest if it spawned, and then recall out. It would be nice to get credit for all the kills I rack up in there, just because those zones are great to play around in. Getting slayer points for those quests would be fun.

I agree totally with your comment about 3 Barrell Cove. That's a potentially great setting for an Explorer/Slayer combo that really doesn't get much play (based in my experience). I love the setting, it would be nice to see it expanded so we would have more reason to go there.

I usually do all the three barrel cove quests and wish there was more to do in that area.

    huh?

"Slayer" tech in quest is probably technically possible - but wouldn't make any sense as it's not designed for quest zones at all, its designed for adventure zones. I mean there are already great ways to reward players for killing included in both those quest which work almost the same as slayer anyways.

I mean every set of encounters in stormcleave grants a bit of 1 shot optional xp on the spot - much the same you would get get killing via slayer tech. As well as contributing towards conquests for +25% total XP on the quest.

Same applies to tempest spine - all outside spawns are grouped into "encounters" and grant xp as you kill them. There fun to run thru and kill and give a little xp.. But 99% of groups skip them as the xp is low and the encounters are tough.

Now i'd agree with increasing the bonus XP you get for doing these to get more players interested, however slayer tech is not nessasary, all that is needed is a small XP increase.

The other way to reward players specific for killing just the optional ones are to have special trophies drop from them, collect X number of them and turn them into a npc for either XP or an item reward.

I agree that my suggestion mixes a game type (slayer) with a quest zone, but technical issues aside, I do think it would be enjoyable. I would like to have a career count of how many beasts inside of Stormcleave I have killed, and get a little XP when that count increases at fixed intervals as it does with Slayer. The reason I included explorer is because that's also a way to encourage exploration of quest areas we usually just run though, and once again I think it would be cool to be encouraged to go all over the tempest spine area looking for the rare spawn, or racking up slayer kills. Same with stormcleave.

Most of my tempest spine runs have always involved minimal exploration, and parties generally think you are nuts if you even try. The only time people find new areas within the Tempest wilderness map is when the storm giant knocks them off the platform and they end up featherfalling to some far off location.

Your ideas also have merit, its just that I am fond of the running kill count and incremental goals from game types like explorer and slayer, etc., as applied to the stormcleave and tempest spine wilderness area maps.

Stormcleave is Beter than a Slayer zone..... As long as you dont finish the quest, you get ful XP for every 5-6 mobs you Kill as you go. Each group is "Optional" and adds to your XP... On the go..... So you get XP for each Group and you get XP for thining the monsters out as well... 50 minions is it?

Heh, I couldn't make it past this.

"I know the world is round, but if it WEREN'T we could chart a path this way..."

What exactly are you trying to accomplish if you're requesting a change that you know to be impossible given the current way a quest works?

There are plenty of explorer areas for you to venture in and around. I'm sure that with each mod there will be additional explorer areas that you have not seen yet. Heck, if we're asking for the ridiculous, might as well ask that the Low Road quest be changed to a raid, and should contain no less than seven named beholders.

Adding some form of slayer &/or explorer might help a few folk learn the route through SC. I know I'd like more than an orienteering badge for scouting it over & over so I wouldn't need to be the one asking for a terrain guide. I'd also like XP for guiding people through the map. Guide service XP, yum.

I though I'd read somewhere that our devs were looking to expand on 3 Bbl Cove. I'm not finding the post, though.
