Default I would love to see Snow!!!

Much of the continent of Xen'drik seems tropical -- tropical to moderate in climate.

    And I love it.

However, it would also be nice - it would be wonderful, rather - to see a large area with snow. Lots of snow. The kind of snow where you make tracks in it as you run through it. With periodic snowfalls (just like we have periodic rainfalls now).

Any thoughts on this? Any devs considering a snow-zone?

Just thought I'd ask... I mean, where are those occasional snow wolves coming from anyway (not to mention the ice flensers)? This would be a great opportunity for all sorts of new monsters. Can anyone say Frost Giants?!!!

It would certainly involve some kind of travel to another part of Eberron, but, hey, there's lots of travel in the game already, so why not?

I always had the impression that Xendrik was an equatorial region and therefore would not really have a snow area. Maybe MysticTheurge will come by and share his knowledge of the continent as I am going from vague memories of the world map.

Well the area of Stormreach is in the equatorial zone of Eberron, so much of it's environs are lust & tropical. The continent of Xen'Drik is huge, however... and much of it exists near the southern polar region. However we've only explored the Northern most tip of Xen'Drik - even in the quests that take us furthest from Stormreach. Adding a jaunt to a snowy region would be possible & I'd love to see it as much as everyone would - but they'd need a good reason for sending us so far beyond the city. After all, most of our quests center on threats to the city itself... and going to the polar region is quite a ways off.

The green box is the areas we've explored thus far. So, we have a lot of ground to cover. Lots of possibilities.

It would be easy to design a quest that would send us that far ... so and so boss plans on attacking the city, we interfere with said plans and he retreats thru a portal to the far south and we go after him. Mabye do a prison break and the fugitive hides out in a lair down there ploting his revenge and we have to go capture him again. Just a couple quick rather lame ideas off the top of my head ... give me time and I could prolly come up with a pretty good story line to send us down for an entire mod kind of like the desert.

Well, Ice Flensers come from Risia. But that aside, you make a good point.

We've explored a lot more than that green box. Check where Menechtarun is on this map. And watch your loading screens when you go to "travel" quests. We get pretty far out there.

You'll also notice there's a lot of room on Xen'drik for "snow" adventures.

Edit -- As a side note: Maps of Xen'drik are always approximations. There are features to the continent that make true mapping of the place almost impossible. It might even be more appropriate to say that Xen'drik maps are nothing more than "guesstimations."

Well - yeah, I did forget the Sands.
That's what I get for only thinking of the load-screen when going to Tempest/Threnal/ect... hehehe

Could be. Large portions of the continent are wracked by the magical aftermath of the Giant's war with the Quori. Consider it to be magical "radiation."

And remember when the Postern Wilds magically became the Cerulean Hills? MT said that kind of stuff really happens in Eberron/Xen'drik.

    Yep.

Check the Loremaster thread for "Traveler's Curse" for more information.

    Sweet!

It looks like just beyond the far southern end of Menechtarun the snow begins.

Maybe they need to build a new city? someplace for us all to branch out from... Have a "protect the caravan" type quest to get there or back, every time (maybe an easy mode once you've done it on elite), and it could be in the snowy regions of the continent.

there's all kinds of ways to implement snowy adventures... I'm sure they'll get to it eventually.
