I want to build it with the starting stats of the OP dwarven barb, but I also want to multi-class with 2 rouge and 1 fighter for Khopesh.

My thoughts are to be able to TWF with Khopesh and bring in the benefits of evasion with sneak attack to help quickly clear the aggro off other party members.

Any suggestions? Or is this style and thought process just losing too much to really be effective? Pros and Cons?
Warforged. Power attack enhancements and immunities are well worth it. Drop toughness and you'll work as an 18/2 with khopeshes. The lower hit points not nearly the issue I thought it would be by dropping toughness -- you'll still have a boatload. Evasion gives far more survivability than that little margin of hp. Your rogue sneak attack also easily smacks down fighter 2 for DPS. Frenzied Berzeker III, Rogue Haste boost, sneak attacks, evasion, pick locks, nofail reconstruct & rez scrolls when you need it. The build is fabulous.

If you are going to go dwarven, use dwarven axes. they're not quite as powerful, but the difference is very low, esp compared to fbIII.

You've taken a couple of racial suggestions and I have to say, I disagree with both of them. A wf barbarian is so fantastically hard to heal with divine spells. it's awesome that you're doing tons of pa damage and have full time water breathing... if my meta-magic'ed heal spell doesn't dent your life bar.... I'm going to leave you dead.

Human would get you khopesh for free and afford you healing amp (max this!), more skills and let you get to fbIII.

evasion is awesome on a barb. I think you'll be happy with it.

First of all let me say Thanks for the help and suggestions with the quick responses.

18/2 barb/ftr with khopesh, toughness and stunning blow would work quite well.

Evasion really is not that good. For the vast majority of the game, having a resistance buff/item + making your reflex save negates the almost all the damage.. The little bit of extra you might get for having evasion is NOT worth it. Not nearly. This build has a great reflex save as is, and will make reflex saves. Just keep up your resist buffs, ask your party members, and later on craft some 45point ones in teh shroud and your laughing.

Pure human with khopesh is another viable alternative, tho I don't recommend it. Too poor saves, dwarven spell resistance rocks.
I have to say that you are dead on about the 3rd level so I wont be going any more than 2 levels of rouge. I also hate the idea of having to take human instead of dwarf for the same reasons you say. But I really want khopesh because of it's larger crit range. I feel there is a big difference when you crit twice as often at a little over 2/3 of the others damage.

I also have to disagree about the evasion point since you make the point for me. If the character has good reflex saves, then evasion would completely negate the damage all together instead of just half or a reduced portion with resist pots. (besides, pots wont reduce the damage taken from slashing or piercing traps) IMO, this build's seemingly biggest flaw is its lower Con stat from other front line barbs. Evasion just seems as a natural fit considering the higher dex stat and lower hit points.

    just one question......

What skill sets would you be adding to in order to get all of that? As a WF you would only be getting 3 skill points per level and your main focus would still be to be a front line party member.

I will be adding to the UMD no matter what though. I just don't see much space for lock picking as a WF when I need spot or balance more.

    Spoken like a true healer.

I agree with the WF part... I would rather just let a WF figure it out on their own and save my mana as a healer. And thanks for the human suggestion...... I think that's what I am going to do since I plan on taking the Khopesh feat. But I don't think I will be maxing (or even adding to) healing amp.

I know some who've tried... all hit the wall around level 12ish, and then bought some packs (Gianthold, Sands, Necro's)

You could try, but especially for gear, you'd hit the wall. FTP gear just doesn't compete.

TRing my fighter into a TWF Dwarf barb. Have a few +3 tomes and just looking for any quick feedback before i take the plunge. +3 dex tome lets me invest less in dex which is great, I'll need a +3 cha tome in order to really benefit from silver flame pots but I'll get one eventually. This toon has dual earthgrab and dual lit2 Daxes as well as one Silver Anarchy burst of Righteousness and one Silver Holy of Greater outsider bane for fiends.

He's got a 45hp earthgrab goggles (which i swap with tharnes for pure dps such as non-tanking horoth) , madstone boots, epic venom cloak, epic charged gauntlest (no third chrono epic item yet, suggestions?), +3 int, +3 dex, +3 wisdom tomes (thus the odd stats), Frenzy berzerker tod set with +2 str,

currently using normal Maralith Chain‎ (only has seal for epic so i cant count on that any time soon) and cant decide if im better off with that or dragontouched.

I'll use carnifex until level 9 or so.

UMD is just to allow cross racial / alignment items, i have no intention of using scrolls or whatnot. I also play True Neutral when possible,

Why dwarf and why pure barbarian? The capstone does very little for TWF and dwarf offers inferior dps to Half-orc.

    I would go half orc 18 barb/ 2 ftr or follow consumers barbarian build: 18 barb/ 1 ftr/ 1 rog

    eulogy: Think it looks fine.

Same as dualaxer I think.. I did a lesser TR on him recently to slightly upgrade him similarly with a 14 base dex.. as I got most tomes now.. all +3 cept str i got +4.

Played him the other day in the u9 pack on elite. In elite content like that he works well enough. Fun to play with the different one handed weps available, epic siroco worked pretty good..

Tho these days THF seems more and more superior for barbs..

    EG:
U9/9.1 - supreme cleave faster and now has glancing blows for THF.. But for TWF, you don't get any offhand procs, and the animation isn't quite as fast.

It's still semi useful for twf tho in large packs of mobs.... With epic sirroco I managed a couple double/triple trips with cleave.. Kinda fun, used to be able to do that with good ole trip on glancing blows.. But yea thats gone =/

re: umd for race reqs weps?
mm not sure theres much point to that anymore. Pretty much anything nice youd find as a RR wep will most likely be easily craftable (well, after the initial grind is done on 1 character).. So just disjunct it (that removes the rr) and make it back to what it was ..

Roll an 18/2 or a dwarf blitz. Either way you'll be happy.

For abashai gear, an easy third spot would be helm.

Also, you could helm, cloak and boots, then wear epic claw set. You only remove the boots for ToD, so you can swap in gauntlets. Only issue there is loss of 4 dmg a hit and 30% amp, but if you aren't the tank, its not an issue.

2 fighter splashes are about to become somewhat less appealing due to Damage Boost buff making it better then using rank 1 haste boost. I don't need the feats so there's really no benefit to the splash.... (( Using innate exotic | find stunning blow to be less appealing then it once was | have enough hp to find toughness unnecessary and simply spend those APs on CON enhancements so it's about a wash anyhow | )) A halfogre may need to splash 2 fighter for the feats, as the exotic and toughness become more necessary, but I don't think its needed on a dwarf at all. I value 1dr, 4hp(lol), 4(or3) strength, 2 con, getting frenzy 3 at 18 instead of 20 while leveling, all much more then 2 feats that I just dont really need. I think the case for staying Pure is still very strong. And who knows, maybe the capstone will be improved some day.

I'm definitely finding that the character does less overall dps then my THF barb, but it's still a lot of fun and still has its moments of awesome. The character is far more defensive then my HalfOgre barb, and Dwarven Spell Resist is tragically underrated. It's awesome.

If they ever fix Cleave mechanics to include offhand swings and spin as fast as a Great Axe, I think the build will become very, very much a contender. (think about effects like earthgrab having two chances to proc on everything around you, sweeet)

anyhow I have a while since TRd the Toon again, level 15 at the moment, and here is his current build --

I ended up saving the +3 tomes and pulling a +3 str from Reavers Fate so that worked out nicely.

(((yes i still value UMD. I have more skill points then I need, investing in jump seems silly to me as it can be easily capped out without a single point of investment into it. My balance is high enough that I'm on my feet before I know it, my intimidate is maxed so what else do I get ? Haggle? okay but I already have a bard so I prefer the flexibility.

Having UMD gives me the option to use cross alignment items and who's to saw what will be added in the future or what I may pull now (echaosblade?... I have a seal and scroll....)))

I've also abandoned silver flame potions and basically min-maxed my stata. I just dont find that I solo enough to value the farming of necro favor. Silver Flame Pots are cool, but more of a gimmik in my eyes, I just dont need 'em.

(((((update edit---- in the advent of the upcoming patch the case for staying pure is greatly improved. Barbarian Damage boost will be superior to rank 1 fighter haste boost and the past life is no longer necessary to fit in (and if you choose to it counts as toughness for unlocking enhancements). Pure, i feel, is undebatable superior to 2 fighter splash by and large now)))))
