Recurve isn't depressed because he realizes how awesome he is as a Warforged Ranger.

    Let's see...

Rangers are forest warriors, and (per D&D description) don't care to be in cities or urban areas any longer than necessary.

These poor trainers are stuck for the rest of their days, trapped in Eberron teaching new rangers to survive adventures they'll never be able to go on ever again.

    Why WOULDN'T they be depressed?

I've often wondered why the ranger trainers all look suicidal myself. I can understand being upset being stuck in Stormreach, but the lvl 3-5 trainer in the marketplace looks like he wants to drown himself in the fountain and the 6-7 trainer in House Deneith looks like he wants to hurtle himself off the cliff.

Can't we find a nice, isolated park to put these poor guys in? Pretty soon, you're going to find one of them on top of the Spire with a longbow and plenty of House D sturdy arrows. The bodies of unsuspecting city dwellers will litter the streets. Blood will flow. There will be chaos and rioting in the streets.

Gardners may not show up 'til Mod 8 Watch for the Great Gardner Invasion when everyone will be rolling gardners.
So, I hear that one day we may get Familiars...

I guess we'd better watch out for those moody ranger trainers for a while. Until then, I'm gonna go plan out my build for my gardner. Glad I have my 1750 favor because I am so doing a batman begonia build.

Rapid shot, precision, many shot. I can stand behind a pillar, target the sorc and still hit him. Three times. Given the amount of damage I can do and the number of hit points a sorc has, I'll be wasting at least one arrow.

Recurved is happy because he HAS a quiver. The rest of us want them, too.

Everyone is missing the most obvious reason - because they're rangers!!

Which is why we are wondering... Maybe they are lonely because they don't need a party to finish quests and have been soloing?

Because none of the other trainers will let them play in any trainer games..

Actually if he is at the top of the market tent there is no way a sorc would make it close enough to nuke him ... spells have a range on them where bows don't. A nice W/P bow with manyshot = a very dead sorc in very little time.

*edit* just noticed previous poster said spire ... then ya it would be a bit easier. However a true ranger would climb to top of market tent and start firing away hehe.

    They miss their animal companions.

Recurve looks happy cause he sees all the people running around with the defenders and getting greased by them.

*bangs head on desk because people didn't get the analogy between the spire and the UT clock tower*

That would be my guess ... Frankly, I never noticed this until this thread.

Wonder why that is ??? (I haven't played a ranger?)

Nah I got it and got a chuckle out of it ...was just adressing the said rangers concern of some sorc interupting his plan with a nuke. If he was at top of the market place tent instead of spire then it would be less of an issue is all.
