Nightmares aside I would be more concerned with the way the footage is filmed (ie handheld shaking camera) and the effects on a 7 year old's eyes.

*edit* I meant that the movie is filmed a la Blair Witch Project versus the bootleg version of the shady guy in back of the theater version.

How can you be hopeful about the quality of a movie and advocate piracy in the same breath?

not so much advocating piracy, but reality. I'm sure that with a little effort you might be able to find it online already as well as a few "flea markets" will also porbably have it on sale for $5.00 in a variety of languages.
I would rather see it on the big screen and pay full price $12-14/person so that they make new ones but when the kids come home from their dads (i'm the stepdad), with 4 or 5 movies that aren't out on video and and in 2 cases weren't even in the theater yet, it seems to me that I can wait a week and see it for free OR depending on the concensus is here about how good and kid friendly it is, take the family and spend $80 (tickets + food) to see this. Chances are, the kids will have seem it at their dads and tell me about it before i can go see it with the wife while the kids are away.

Talking Good movie.....don't go on a full stomach.

I thought this was a pretty good movie really. I wouldn't bring my kids to it though, because at times it got a little freaky and/or gross. You can't really see the "boogie man" but you can see the little creatures that fall off it's body- and what they do to people. The motion of the camera had my husband queasy almost the whole movie, and by the end he really couldn't watch any more. He swears it was the worst movie ever.

havn't seen it myself, but have hear nothing but horrible reviews from some friends, as the previous poster said, lots of people had problems with the shakieness of the camera work. Even heard some reports of people throwing up it made them so sick.

Cause it worked out really well for Battlestar Galactica. Or at least that's what I'd say if I was the OP.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

well, the movie was taken out of my hands. The kids BioDad already let them watch his bootleg vopy. They didn't like it. My wife and I did go see and we both liked it. Clever premise, some very stupid choices by the main characters and 1 very incredible camcoder with a neverending battery.

Personally, I think the movie was great, it took them an actuall disaster to have the courage to go after who/what they really want. And in the end they pay for it. MUAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
