    Default Warforged Mania

Recently, in order to bridge the level gap among the characters in my guild, we decided to start a new warforged-only group. We decided to add a number rules for these characters to make things more challenging. These rules are:
    1. No twinking from our other characters.
    2. No use of the auction house to buy or sell.
    3. No grouping with anyone other than a guilded warforged. (This is added to maintain some equity in levels)

I had never played a warforged before, but, I thought it might be fun. The response was actually surprising. We had fifteen people in the guild respond by making a warforged character. I originally made a wizard, but, after reaching 6th level, I began to realize that we had no clerics and many arcane casters. I was thinking about higher level content, where resurrection, death ward and other cleric buffs are nice to have. So, I created a battle cleric. Now, I should add here that I have always been fervently opposed to the concept of the battle cleric. However, in the case of an all warforged group, with arcane casters doing most of the healing, I could see that a battle cleric might actually shine. I have not been disappointed. Since the arcane casters have taken on the roll of healing, I can use my mana to transform myself into a very solid tank. in addition, I can command or stun enemies prior to engaging them in melee, which really does reduce the amount of mana the arcane casters have to expend on repairing.

I use the bladesworn transformation only on the toughest of battles, but, this enhancement by itself has turned the tide of battle many times and helped win the day. Two nights ago, we formed a Tempest Spine raid with only seven of us. The group included:
    1. Wydgyt 8th level Barbarian
    2. Brixer 8th level barbarian
    3. Gilimech 8th level cleric
    4. Savmodtwo 8th level Sorcerer
    5. Numanuma 8th level rogue
    6. Smelting 6th level Wizard
    7. Drack 5th level Cleric

We had one death, and after getting blown off of Sorjak's lair two times, I used the bladesworn transformation and we took Sorjak down quickly at that point.

We've had a bit of trouble with the rust monsters in Threnal East. We're going to come back to that after we have gained some more levels, but, other than that, this all warforged group has been extremely effective and entertaining and again, this is without any twinking.

In fact, our guild members have had so much fun doing this, that we are planning to do an all halfling group in the future. We've found this to be a good way to get past the doldrums of being level capped.

I think all Warforged groups are fantastic, my RL friends and I run a 3-man one consistently, and it's lots of fun. Running a cleric was my first love in DDO, however, so I would love to hear how you are setup. What spells do you memorize? How did you build your battle cleric?

    Best Regards,

    Default My BC build

Understand that this is my first and only battle cleric. I designed him to be a buffer, crowd controller, and support tank. I don't claim to be an expert, so go easy.

He is a 32 point build. I built him with the following stats:
    Str 16
    Dex 8
    Con 16
    Wis 16
    Int 8
    Chr 6

Since we are not twinking, I have no tomes at this point.
I started as a cleric, but took one level of fighter at level 2. I have added Wisdom at levels 4 and 8. I have also taken two wisdom and two constitution increasing enhancements. I'm currently a 8/1 Cleric/Fighter with the following stats:
    Str 19 (Blademaster Gauntlets)
    Dex 8
    Con 20 (+2 belt and +2 enhancements)
    Wis 22 (+2 necklace, +2 enhancements, +2 levels)
    Int 8
    Chr 6

    Fixed that one for you

I made my own first warforged a couple of months ago. By the time you're 14, rust monsters are not really a concern anymore. I don't treat them any differently than I do on any of my other characters anymore. When I was lower in level, though, I did have to avoid them.

Prayer - works on skills like trip and sunder

    Recitation - +1 to saves

I prefer prayer when meleeing a cleric
    BLACK MANTIS - Sarlona
    A r n y a - T o r c h e - S l i m m - D e b t - E p o x y - R e t r o g r a d e - P i n e t r e e
NOW YOU WILL KNOW TRUE POWER

Recitation gives +2 to attack, saves and armor class, not just to saves. All three of these seem relevant to a melee class. The OP is pure cleric, so giving a bonus to trip and sunder does nothing.

I'm also in an all WF group, and I'm playing the cleric (I took a barbarian level rather than a fighter level, but I'm at 8/1 as well - rage clickie + bbn rage + bladesword transformation FTW!!!). We had so much trouble with the rusties in the Threnal Library that we finally split our party in half and ran it twice, each time with half of us bringing our WF toons and half of us bringing our level 14 casters and clerics. We got no XP, but we got the completion. :P

A guildietaught me an important lesson today: WF clerics get the raise dead spell for one reason. That is so they can raise the fleshling they just killed and kill him again.
My Videos Shadow Mage (ok, it's a build now)
A forum post should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

LOL I belong to both an all halfling and an all warforged guild in addition to my home guild.

Default Speaking as a WF Wiz/rogue

by the time you get high enough, you'll have a blueshine weapon to take down the rusties and it will still be very diffcult for them to hit you.

Then again, he has a Adamantium Blueshine warhammer of 3 Blinding Flash/rest with Master's Touch so I could be a wee bit biased

    Ghoste, that's cruel and torturous!

(WF cleric raises the meatbag and kills em, raises and kills MUHUHAHAHAHAHA!)

Be careful what you wish for, what you say is best; for sometimes what you seek is found, not at the end of the quest.
