    Default Severe lag issues

DDO has always run smooth as silk on my system, with all graphics settings on max.

Until yersterday. Suddenly when I log in, my toons freeze in place for a solid minute. Once they are able to move, I take a few steps and rubberband halfway back. This happens whether Im in a public instance or a dungeon.
Every so often I can see other players running past, they run in place for a few seconds and then jet off.

I tried turning all my graphics settings to their lowest, but that had no effect. Ive also booted up a couple of multiplayer internet games and had no issues with them, so Im thinking this is not a problem with either my machine or my connection.

Speaking with other players, some experience no lag, while others are having the same problem as me....Im not sure what else to do as Im not computer savvy, but its getting real old running only low level missions in rubberband mode (I dont want to bring my higher levels into a more dificult instance and get death-penaltied into oblivion)

If anyone has any ideas, please share them with me, because like I said, I am totally not a computer person.
    Thanks in advance

As you surmised this is likely network lag not graphical lag, I'm not aware of any issues so please double check any firewall and router settings and if that still doesn't help post a tracert to gls.ddo.com so we can see if there is any obvious net traffic issues.

Hmm.... the wife installed a different antivirus program on my system, and it's firewall component doesnt want to allow DDO to start, it shuts the client off and I have to restart it after hitting the 'allow exception' button.
Im going to reinstall the previous antivirus (which never gave me a hint of trouble running DDO) and see if that clears the problem. I just logged off DDO after trying a different server, and found the lag time between hitting a skill (like search) to be over a full minute between hitting the button and the animation/dice roll.....just awful.

A lot of people including myself were experiencing this both last night and tonight.

You could also, mouse over the connection link Icon, its next to the Character sheet, in game. Check to see if you are getting Packet loss, if you are then it could well be the Antivirus or it could be your ISP.

My ISP(insight Cable) has been giving me problems lately with packet loss and I have been getting the rubberbanding with a packet loss of 25% or more, its very frustrating to say the least. They keep telling me they are aware of the problem and are fixing it, 3 weeks ago.

I've been having the same issue since about Wednesday last week. My ISP is Cox Communications. I guess its time to contact them.

    Default tracert and packet loss

I just ran a tracert and the report said I was in excess of 30 hops and the ingame connection info showed my packet loss fluctuating between 35 and 45%. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is this purely an ISP issue?

Ive checked my firewall settings and such as was suggested, but nothing has changed since I started playing DDO over a year ago. I went back and re-installed my original antivirus program also.

As I said, it's always run smooth as silk, but now Im experiencing severe network lag....I can turn in place and hit skill buttons, but they take several seconds to actually activate. I can see other players running past me, but I cant move. I can swing at monsters, but they suddenly teleport behind me and beat the snot out of me before I can do anything. Terribly, terribly frustrating.
I really dont think its my ISP, everything else internet related is working as normal, as are other online games I play, it's only DDO that is giving me this problem
