Instead of that, do something like say. . .Weapon Supremacy. Requires 18 Fighter. That's a feat in the PHB2.

Or perhaps Improved Two Weapon Defense and Greater Two Weapon Defense. If they can figure out the coding, perhaps the Improved Buckler Defense, and then allow equipping a two-handed weapon along with a buckler.

Bigger trick, and far cooler, could be the Tactical or Weapon Style feats from the Complete Warrior.

Trick to making Fighters more powerful is adding more and more feats.

    Adding to Gol's thoughts:

    Comparison of Fighter and Ranger?
    Ranger:
    Two Weapon Fighting
    Improved Two Weapon Fighting
    Greater Two Weapon Fighting
    Rapid Shot
    Manyshot
    Precise Shot
    Improved Precise Shot
    Evasion
    Diehard (Mod6)
    +Spellcasting
    +Bow Strength
    Favored Enemy 1 (L1)
    Favored Enemy 2 (L5)
    Favored Enemy 3 (L10)
    Favored Enemy 4 (L15)
    Dex Enhancements
    10% Melee Alacrity Enhancement

    More skill points per level
    Barkskin
    Greater resists
    Jump/Tumble
    Freedom of Movement
    Self Healing

    Fighter:
    8 combat based feats
    9 counting Mod6
    Str Enhancements

A little more separation between rangers and fighters.

One more thing, what is this Dorf race? Is this something new or did the originator of the post mean Dwarf?
Charater Names: Mostly Jeryle for the dudes and Merreth for the ladies
    Main: Wizards and Healers
    Officer of Unbreakable

You do realize that all those spells in Orange are already listed under "+Spellcasting"

I had forgotten about this, thanks.

Yes, it will almost catch up with a Ranger's FE bonus, but not quite. And most Rangers I know (myself included) only take FEs where such damage is needed. As for non-Dwarven Rangers, well, that's not really what I'm talking about. I've never seen a compelling argument for why a Fighter-replacement Ranger-tank would not be a Dwarf.

I totally agree. However, with the feats currently ingame, the only benefit of being a Fighter that I see is Fighter Toughness and extra "flavor" feats.

I have not run the new mod on risia, but I just have to point out that rangers are more buff dependent then fighters i.e. ram's might and barkskin. If we start encountering alot of debuffers such as enemy spellcasters these spells go away whereas a fighter's inherent strength, fighter armor mastery, weapon focus feats, etc,. doesn't..

Several people have argued that the new ac will be hp. Considering that fighters at level 16 have a possiblity of 82 more hp and will probably get further toughness enhancements which in turn will lead to more hp they will be more surviveable then rangers at least where evasion and reflex saves are not involved... If the ranger is dead what good is their higher dps?

Default A dorf is a dwarf

It's a name given to dwarfs by the halflings. It was meant to be degrading to the dwarf. Over time it's become sort of a nickname. Ahh nobody like those pain in the ass troublesome halflings anyway.
