Congrats and Hooah! She picked the "best" service IMHO. What MOS she looking at?
Oh, and don't forget to tell her the 3 rules of working for the gov't.
1) Admit nothing
2) Deny everything
3) Make counter-accusations
And tell her not to be surprised and get discouraged when the Army uses it's mantra:
"If it aint' broke, fix it till it is"
Other than that.....enjoy. Her service will make you and her proud.

While I may disagree with the choice, congrats on raising a daughter who is taking charge of her life and stepping quite gracefully into adulthood. All too uncommon, and something you should be very proud of.
Hope she gets the MOS she wants and station of choice. Good luck to her.

please! marines all the way. nothing strikes fear in the hearts of men more than a marine... unless it's a female marine!
and even for the women they have the absolute best uniforms. and c'mon... even in the armed forces that matters! let's see, sailors... well, nco's still have those silly bellbottom pants and popeye hats. army... who really looks good in olive greeen? air force comes closest to looking okay but they still look too close to airline stewards/stewardesses.
after all, these (not the absolutely awesome accomplishment of deciding what is important to you and working your butt off to achieve it with courage and honor) are most important.
okay, okay... so the uniform is a close second in priorities!
semper fi kobold killer... definitely something to be proud of

Congrats to her for join us in the Armed Forces. While I am an Air Force guy we all work together for the most part as a joint force. All of the bases in the middle east will have people from each branch, yes even the coast guard puts some sand box time in. Tell her when she flies into action on the C-17 to not be afraid to tell the loadmaster hello. It may be me

“Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.”
I joined up in the Air Force, and I have a relative in the Army and in the Marines. I almost joined the Navy too but I get the worst Seasickness ever. All the services have their drawbacks it seems but at the same time they all have advantages that appeal to specific poeple. Your made the right choice in branch so long as it was her choice and not the Army's. I feel everyone should serve their country but only if they have a choice as to "how"
You must find the balance - the yin to your yang - the dark to your light - the cat to your dog - the fist to your face... better yet dont go looking for that one, it'll find you.
