    Wink Missing out

It came to me that a lot of players (myself as well) are guilty of power gaming. Leveling our toons as quickly as we can. It is ture that for the majority of the builds really don't get good till the mid-levels. So what do we do? We go to a few different quests and eilte them out and the xp flows. Thoughout my time in game the sence of discovery is always peaked. Taking my time and trying to all the quests finding a new ones and old ones. Great ones and the ones that no one can stand. I was puging out a group (12-14) and I was dumb-founded to hear that a few of the players in my group diddn't have quests that, in my eyes, that is a must do. Delaras etc. At first i throught to myself that they are playing an alt and just haven't got around to certain quests. In this case however, it was not the case. By no means am i telling people how to play there toons. All i'm saying it take the time and take the xp hit and play the game to the fullest. The progames would like it. LONG LIVE GRUNK!!!!!

I am in agreement. My first day online was a whirlwind. I cannot really remember most of the first quests because I apparently hooked up with a group that was power gaming through the goodblade...we did them all in less than an hour all 3 lvl's. They just ran through...I barley heard the DM say anythign before the quest was over. I missed out on the story and the exploration aspect of my first day.

This then bleeds into building a party for a quest most people do not do because of the low xp compared to the time invested.

This ruins parties built as some peopel are only interested in doing a quest on elite for the XP/Favor and as fast as they can. Switching out 'toons' to open a quest on elite and switching back... made me feel like I was cheating. i will never allow that in my parties again.

There is so much to do in the game, I would rather get all the quests on normal over getting all the favor points possible for one Avatar....or something...

I am just a player and it is only my pov.

i do not disagree. however, i have 7 capped toons, a L13 and deleted a few other capped during the previous mods. i dun need to do certain quests repeatly. taking my time is not an option too. on my fighter, he's done every quest on elite cept abbot. i have 4 other toons which have exceeded 1750. what is there for me to take my time? nothing to see.... for new players, this is entirely different. they'll need to have experienced it slowly and not rush through their learning curve. powerleveling for new players will only excerbate the problems of L14 noobs.
If you want to know why...

It is true, Astargras in his first seeing of a rust monster tried to shield bash his way out and lost his shield in the process. Mistakes are how ones learns. Guilds are a great thing, they help a player with all types of things. Quests, gear, directions in how to play. However, the MAC takes this idea to an all time high. Myself and me guildies work hard to help each other out, and at the same time that intence need to help can over flow into silliness. I'm am thankfull for my brothers/sisters in arms, they have the greatest understanding when it comes to the whole experiance that is know as DDO. Long Live Grunk!!!!!!!!

I've eight capped toons ... and one closing in. All but my Barbarian have over 1750 favor... 5 of them had that before gianthold. My main Emili... opened drow (mod 2) the 1st day they came out without her favor running she had 1500+ some favor... the only favor running I had ran was to open things on elite for other people. Reason was early on I wanted to explore every quest ... she had done most all of them with her level at the quest level also. When the 1750 favor was anounced I wanted to reroll her as a 32 point - instead of running her for the last 250 I rolled another girl Emilee... and ran that character all the way up to near favor cap - was rather silly of me at the time I guess but I somehow I thought in my mind I did not wish to waste a another +2 tome on her if I was going to reroll her as a 32 pointer. LOL (slaps forehead)... anyway I ended up rerolling her and then of course running all the bloody favor on her also because I thought "Hey! I want a +2 favor tome on her too!"

Fact is I ended up running favor on every character I had just because the different house favors and every toon I built had run most all that favor up at the level they were appropriate for the quests... Only my cleric had by-passed the little unpopular lower level quests on her way up - it resuted in her being top heavy - lvl 11+ quests elite and very few done elite below that... I ended up running her back through those all for her house favors and I think she's at 1800 some now? Poor girl was neglected growing up.

All i'm saying is that new players to the game should take the time with there main toon or even with an alt and go out and explore the world of stormreach and not just the quest dungeons but all the little noocs and cranies. Talk to the NPC, just to see what they say. If it's in the game why not see it for yourself. Long Live Grunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
