    Run a tracert gls.ddo.com
    1. Click on start then go to "run"
    2. Type in CMD and hit enter
    3. Type Tracert gls.ddo.com
if you see an astrick by the DDO at the end of the trace then you should know its a connection problem not a account problem.

If there is a prorgam blocking your connection doing this should will let you know.
    1. Click on start then go to "run"
    2. Type in msconfig and hit enter
    3. Go to the start up tab
    4. Disable all the tasks in that window (except systray if it is present, under xp though, it should not)
    5. Restart and try playing the game.
    6. If it works go back to msconfig and turn one of the start up tasks on ...
    7. Try playing again - repeat this process with each task until you find the one that is causing the game to stop connecting.

Windows XP firewall blocking? try this.
    1. Got to Control Panel.
    2. Click the Windows Firewall icon.
    3. Check to see if DnDClient and DnD Launcher is in the Exception list and the correct path.
    4. If it is there try refreshing it. do this by deleting the 2 exceptions, rebooting and re add them.

    Installation Error? use this.
    1. Go to Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs and remove DDO.
    2. Defragment the hard drive completely to consolidate free space and run the scan disk(chkdsk) to check the hard drive for
    any virus.
    3. Disable the Window’s Firewall and the Anti virus that you are using.
    4. Try to install the game once again.
    5. Refresh the Window’s Firewall.
    6. Ensure that your firewall has dndclient.exe and dndlauncher.exe listed as exceptions, and enabled to access the internet from
your computer. If they already are, you may need to refresh the firewall settings. Do this by removing both files from the
exceptions list, rebooting the computer, and re-adding both files to the exceptions list.
    7. Now try to launch the game.

if all this fails then most likely its an Account issue.

    Good luck,
    Frostbite
