Can a barb with a 8 wis and one lvl of Rgr use healing wands?

My 6 Barb needs be more self healing, but I have an 8 wis. If I take a lvl of Rgr, will I be able to use the Cure Serious Wands, Lesser Restore, Cure Disease, etc?

I don't want to waste the Lvl and not be able to heal myself.

Help me understand how this works.

Im not sure rangers get neutralize poison nor cure disease either....

As to taking a level for wand use...well remember that wands have about twice the cooldown of potions, and all they really do is save you about 60% from the cost of potions (I assume weight isnt a factor for a bard or fighter). I once took a level of paladin on a 2weapon fighter for wand use, and ever since they didnt give items the effect of sup devotion items it just didnt seem worth the loss of a class level just to save a little money. Then again, most of my characters are not lacking in plat.

well you can't use a potion to pick up the cleric... that's another good reason. I use potions for emergencies and wands for cleaning up after a fight and picking up downed peoples

Lesser restore is not on the ranger spell list. Remove disease and neutralize poison are.

You'll miss out on critical rage II at level 14 if you take a level in a healing class.

but with the level cap increase ... relatively soon (tm)

And yea, stats don't effect wand usage, you can use them pretty much no matter what. Only thing that will prevent there use is rage or madstone rage.

Other option is a bard level, will get you cure wands all the way up to critical (better then ranger or palli), ands ome other more arcane type wands that can be useful in soem cases.. As well as 30 second facinate, a +1 to hit/dmg song and spell, and umd as a class skill.

Don't really recommend any of those choices tho.

a barbarian with a pali lev lol that would be quite a combo... however since you currently need a 250 umd(joke cant be bypassed) to bypass the lawful good paladin alignment requirement, think that leaves that option out.
