Bramble-Casters are gloves, not bracers. You could wear +6 str bracers and a GFL belt until you get the titan belt to combine both.

Go with rings of elemental resistances if you can, and use that cloak slot for a Resistance item to help your will saves when you need it. You can get a +4 resistance cloak very cheap.

You probably won't be wearing the choker all of the time. A good swap for the neck slot is silver flame talisman. It will protect you from enervation and rolling a 1 on an insta-kill spell should you come up against beholers or other powerful casters.

Also, the Choker is great most of the time but if you're running through really easy content really quickly the lethargy effect gets annoying.

I like using queen amour instead of bloodstone, then the +5 resist trinket from pop.

They are weapons available for tome page trade ins. Deathnip is, well in the hands of a barb might be comparable to SOS(and only marginally easier to get).

There are just too many good cloaks out there to use elemental resistance cloaks.

Chattering rings are nice and would eliminate the option for resistance rings, but I really did not get the impression that he was building for AC.

Another option with the bramble-casters if you wish to build for damage return is to equip the chord of reprisals and some armor with an elemental guard other than fire. This returns 3d8 per hit.

My goal for my own warforged barbarian is to look like this:

    Helmet - Minos Legens
    Necklace - Choker/Silver Flame Pendant
Trinket - Bloodstone/Head of Good Fortune
    Belt - Titan/Chord
    Boots - Madstone/Delving/30% Strider
    Cloak - Cloak of Curses/Resistance +5
Ring 1 - +6 con with 3 divine favor charges
Ring 2 - All elemental resistances/GFL (for when I use the Chord)
Bracers - Ethereal/+6 str (for when I use the Chord)
Docent - Defiance/Acid, Elec, Ice guard
    Gloves - Bramble-casters
Goggles - DQ/Mentau (for when I would rather use the Head of Good Fortune over the Bloodstone)

I won't list a weapon choice because I wouldn't limit myself to just 20, let alone just one.

Set up this way, most of my item slots have an effect this is triggered when I am hit.
