No race has an advantage for STR Based To Hit.

Many do. Dwarves can get a +2 att and dmg to the best damage weapon in the game. The greataxe. Thats the equivalent of 4 str thats like being raged all the time. Drow and Elves get it too just not for such a baddass weapon. I would call that an advantage for str-based to hit.

And this is why people feel some class/Race combonations are gimped and others play to have fun. No one can tell whether or not you have spent 12 action points on +2 to Hit and +2 Damage. No one can tell when you are grouped whenther your swinging at +35 or +37 to hit. Its silly to think otherwise.

While this is true it does play an overall effect on your character and thus an overall effect on the party.

My halfling repeater ranger kicks SO MUCH REAR it's not funny! She outperforms most elven rangers I have rolled up or met. Warforged make some pretty huge targets to try and be arrow fighters... too easy to hit, but they try. Dwarves are a huge brick of "HIT ME" too.

Not taking anything away from u really but........ If I put a repeater in the hands of a Drow wizard....... he will likely out gun most rangers.

(that might only be a slight exaggeration....maybe...drow bard would probably be more true)

There you go, I'm pretty sure that no other race can get a higher to-hit score with a repeater than a halfling can, and damage is entirely dependent on the weapon.

you do have a point I think..........


but the fact that other races seem to have their favored classes supported via enhancements and that halflings dont see the same thing is my point. I could make a sweet repeater ranger rogue......finesse build. But when it comes to traps after spending all my points I wil still find drow wizards with 1 level of rogue that are as good or better than a halfling. without a similiar enhancement boost...... a halfling will be standing around begging for fox and hero so he can find and disable.


But now you have me thinking

Finesse fighter
trap monkey
range repeater with improved precision

i ll see what happens...... i like to have fun but...... failing a bunch of rolls and having the party look at you when you are already taking to long for them is not fun...............succeeding and feeling useful and helping out the party is way more fun for me.

Bonus rogue enhancements would help to that end............I still have to pay for them.........and halflings should be good at something.

What defines a halfling in this game? Why should I make one over another race other than personal preferance?
