Default Call for proven pure rogue builds

    Hello,

I want to link some pure rogue builds to my guide (see sig) that have been played by folks to the cap. I have several multi-class builds linked, but I know there are some pretty tight pure builds out there.

Please post a thread in the rogue forums and drop me a PM with your build URL, state that you've played it to the cap, and a name or catch phrase I can use to refer to your build (see sig, bottom of first post, for examples). Builds posted to the rogue forum should have both a strengths and weakness portion, and also a 'if I'd done it all over again' commentary...since no one is perfect.

Ours is potentially one of the most powerful classes in the game, if played well, and I'd like to expand and centralize the knowledge base and so let folks new to the class come into their power earlier.

    Cheers!

And if i had it to do all over again, i'd likely have put some points in a social skill (Bluff/Diplo), and likely wouldn't have made him a mechanic at all. I have since reworked him as an assassin, but it was rather costly and time consuming.

I'd be very interested in hearnig from people who have chosne Way of the Assassin and Way of the Mechanic.

My plan with my Human Rogue is to stay pure and be a Bluffmeister. As such, the build might change over time. I want to experiment with Bluff, Diplomacy, Improved Feint and SUbtle Backstabbing as well as the Damage and Haste boosts.

I'd like to hear more from pure rogues out there.

Gone pure before and didn't really like it - since then gone drow batman (mostly rog - for the skill points) and very happy! Picked up Way of the Mechanic for the bonuses to Search, Spot, Disable Device and Open Lock.

I'll post the details of the build when I get home from work.

I want special abilities and maximized sneak dice, personally.

There are already a lot of multiclassed rogue builds in the guide. I'd like to see more from purists.

    No offense meant.

No offense taken at all - I mearly ment that you can get some of the advanced enchamcment lines even without going pure. However if you are looking for information of rogues that are using damage dealing abilities like max sneak attack, crippling strike etc.. That's an entirely diffrent story for me.. I've always focused on the disable / Unlock aspects of my rogues before this most recent splash build.

Good luck on your quest however, I'll keep an eye on this post to see what neat builds you get in response

hey, bro. My build posted above was once a mechanic, but i came to realize something. Its unneeded. Trapsmithing is probably the least useful of a rogue's abilities, and you can be very proficient at it without dedicating yourself to the mechanic line. When I think of a rogue, i don't think of some hunk of meat trailing behind the party waiting for them to find a trap so he can disable it. To me a rogue is a flicker of steel before a shudder of death.

So, IMHO, mecanic is all fine and dandy, but you can be a good trapsmith without it, and you can be an AWESOME dps with assassin. Get your subtle backstabber up, and get ahold of a treason, and you can go most fights dealing sneak attack damage the whole time.
