Says you, I say it is. Bound items suck, period end of story and not having the ability to unbind an item I have bound is just stupid and nuts. Please keep in mind, I am not in anyway asking for a way to unbind RAID and other certain binding type items that are apart of the game, only those that we, the players bind ourselves thru the hard work to get the shards to bind the item to begin with.

To attune them for Eldritch Rituals, yes. (Hence the requirement of an attuned item rather than a bound item.)

Would Adamantine Ritual 2 or 3 actually give the item the adamantine attribute for DR purposes?
I could say "You'll have to try and find out", but I'll not be that cruel. The Adamantine Ritual does not actually lace the item with Adamantine, the Eldritch Device makes the item gain some of the mystical properties of Adamantine. (Specifically, greater hardness and increased maximum durability.) Higher levels of the Adamantine Ritual increase the maximum durability of an item, no other surprises.

While you're entirely accurate about D&D being caster-oriented, I think any such one-sided system would wreak havoc in an MMO.
Not every Eldritch Ritual will require Soul Gems.

    Re: Unbinding
At this point we have no plans on unbinding bound items. While in the future this may change and we may investigate variants on the Bind-to-Character system, right now it's best to consider it a permanent choice if you choose to make it.

Is the ability to have bound Items Bind to an account so they can be traded with your other characters.. or a Shared bank with all your characters.
I would be willing to say good job if they did do something to that extent where the items I, MYSELF, BIND to MY TOON could only be given to another one of MY TOONS in my OWN Account. That is something I could meet half way on. But to not give us any option what so ever on bound items is dumb.

This word is key.... "choice". You can choose to bind the item or not. I understand the frustration with bound raid items, as I always seem to get the item I wanted for the toon I didn't bring....

But anyway, It's your choice to bind the item with the device. If you want it "unbound", don't bind it in the first place!

Bad choice, it should be looked into now, not later. I'm not asking for the ability to unbind RAID or other special loot items that bind, I can live with that. I am strictly talking about items that we, the players, if we so choose to take the time to gather the shards together and bind an item that we either be able to unbind that same said item or it be bound to our account so that we can atleast move it around our other toons we have in game. Not having the option really sucks as then it leaves us with only 2 options after we have bound it, sell it to a vendor for practicly nothing because the economy is so badly skewed in this game or keep it and have it take up space to never be used again.

    Half way?...

That is exactly what you are arguing for...

You want the ability to be able to trade bound items with your characters...

Arguing for what I said.. is exactly that, and allows the ability not to ruin why they added bound items in the first place.

Now if you want to be able to unbind items to give/sell/trade to other players..

    Then I say No way!!!!!!

Well right now we have nothing, so we gotta start somewhere dont we? I can agree and see teh merits and would be willing to go with your idea if they went that route, but as of right now, we have nothing, so I'm trying to push for something.

So you're breaking apart my adamantine gem raw material without lacing my item? (thanks for the response btw)

Oh well Insurrection... you were almost off the selling block.

Just see if Kargon asks to have his face adamantine laced now? If he doesn't get the DR bypass out of it... is it really worth face bashing the warforged titan?

Default Well while we have a Dev here.....

Any word on when throwing weapons will be able to be repaired? Damages is slowly creeping up on my collection.

(For those who are not aware of it, all throwing weapons currently can not be repaired but on the flip side they take damage at a lesser rate than other weapons)

They also stack like other consumable items if you have two of the same type.

    Thank you for an answer....

and for the modification of death damage.

1 problem with that... DDO banks carry items only... not PP

And I got my items insured by House K.

But since they do not have any... they will have to steal it from someone..

Perhaps I'm not understanding totally but are you saying that you'll have to bind the item to yourself before you can preform the ritual on it? Wouldn't that be a bit pointless? If its bound it doesn't take permanent damage and rarely have I ever broke a weapon in a single quest (except for slime beating). Infact, I can really only see a singled limited use of this: If you have an item that is already broke down to a point of having 1-10 durability left.

That's just one example of eventually many Eldritch Rituals.

Increasing an item's hardness by 5 and durability by 10 can be quite useful for fragile items, as you suggested, or even just because it will decrease death wear and significantly reduce normal wear and tear.

Edit: Though one of the thoughts behind the Adamantine Ritual was indeed for items that were significantly worn, gaining a new lease on life as a bound item.

Unless they implemented a ritual (only useable on bound items) that eliminates "permanent" damage.

Then it doesn't really matter when you bind it.

Why would I "help" you on this? It's a bad idea and against the entire point of the system...

If you want to be able to pass an item around... then don't bind it in the first place! It seems to me that you want to have the benefits of both systems. You want an item that is immune to perm damage, can be upgraded with the device, and can be passed around. Well... good luck with that.
