    Default Build advice needed.

I am looking to start a new character. My goal is to have a rogue that has great skills and TWF. A little bit of archery ability would be nice too. Was looking at doing a Drow (I have 32's and +1 tomes available). Starting stats currently set as:
    Str 12
    Dex 18
    Con 10
    Int 16
    Wis 10
    Cha 12

Was thinking of doing a 12rogue/2fighter/2ranger for the automatic feats, the 2 extra feat spots, and the heal wand usage. I am just unsure of many things here. Are my starting stats ok? What about my multi-class choices? I know to start rogue for the skill points, and take first fighter after that for weapon finness, but what should the progression be after that? What feats? Would this build work well for trapskills? I don't know how far off the mark I am.

A few things I'd probably change...

First, I'd swap your Str and Con. I am assuming that you're going weapon finesse with the starting 18 Dex, so all you're gaining is +1 damage with a bow and some carrying capacity. Personally, I think the extra Fort save and hitpoints would serve you better with the 12 Con.

Also, I'd go 13 Rogue/2 Ranger/1 Fighter. You give up 1 feat and fighter str 1, but you're dex based anyway, and you get an extra d6 to your sneak attack damage and also pick up crippling strike. This also opens up Subtle Backstabbing IV, which is a MUST on any TWF rogue IMO.

As for leveling, I'd take 1 in Rogue, 2 and 3 in Ranger, then Rogue levels for awhile. Figure out which higher level feat you want with the fighter bonus feat, and take the fighter level at the appropriate time to get that feat. I'd take the fighter level real late in the build if it was me. Make sure to double up points for disable, open lock, and UMD (if going that route) on your ranger levels to keep them maxed and you should be fine. You get search and spot as ranger class skills. Same thing for the fighter level.

My Deathdealer build has been one of the staple TWF Rogue builds for a while.....

no need for a 16 INT on a Drow..

I have to break the mobs DR, that's why the str12. too much?

    13/2/1 does make sense.

    any recommendations for level sequence?

Level progression in my build is carefully planned out for maximizing TWF Chain.

I was looking to start Rogue/ Ranger Build.

Would you build work with just Rogue/ Ranger?
I was looking to Go 12/2, later 14/ 2, maybe.

    Thoughts?

The problem is the requirements for Improved Critcal (BAB +8) and Greater Two Weapon Fighting (BAB +11)

At l9 you cant qualify for Improved Critical and at l12, you cant qualify for Greater Two Weapon Fighting.

Mod 6 opens this up a bit more for the 14Rogue/2Ranger split though. You can now take IC at l12 and take Greater 2WF at l15

So, as a 14 level build, it cant work... Buf for 16, it can.

L16 14/2 build feats would look something like

L1:Tougness OR SF: UMD or SF: Disable (You lose one of these in a 14/2 Build)
    L3: Weapon FInesse
    l3: Ranger Granted TWF
l6: Tougness OR SF: UMD or SF: Disable
    l9: Improved TWF
    l12: Improved Critical Pierce
    l15: Greater Two Weapon Fighting

SO without the fighter levels you end up losing one of you Skill focus' or TOughness Feat, and need to use your l15 feat for Greater TWF

    Okay,
    Thanks Impaqt.

I had started Penny as a Rogue and then did
the splashed Ranger thing, spur of the moment.
(Just to get the TWF and access to healing wands).
So I didn't really think about it.
And I was looking to Start a new Character from the ground up as well.
This is the first one I really thought about my build on.
    To the OP.
Thanks for posting this, you beat me to it.

This will be a big help.
