Default So why can't I roll a Drow?

Okay so, I just got unboxed/installed/updated and in the character creation screen the Drow race was visible but not selectable?
What gives? Is there an expansion/unlocking process or something I haven't heard of?

Total n00b post I know, please bear with me.

You have to gain 400 favor before you can unlock the Drow. If you click the little star on the top left of your screen and then choose the Patrons tab, you can see your total favor. It's at the bottom of the screen.

    Good luck

To unlock creating a drow character you have to earn 400 favor on a non drow character. Favor is obtained by completing quests, the higher the difficulty you complete it on the more favor you earn. After 400 favor is 1750 favor at which point you can creat 32 point builds of all of the races but drow(essentially catching them up to drow).

Drows get more ability points then the rest of the races. In many ways they are more powerful than the others (they get a boost to 3 different stats : int, cha, dex and only a hit to one of the stats: con).

For this reason, you need to have 400 Total Favor to roll a Drow. Favor is gained by doing quests in the game. Doing a quest on a Elite gives you full favor for that quest (with solo, normal, hard giving a part of it). Most people get enough favor Drows around level 5-7.

Edit: 2 ppl beat me to it...

    Red face Thank You all

Excellent, thanks alot guys, now I will roll a different class to get the favor points before I dig in with the race class combo I want. (Drow/Bard).
Maybe there was a info bubble or something I missed (it was 0400).

I appreciate the useful and informative responses.

And, since others haven't said it yet... Welcome to Stormreach. May your stay be eventful and leave lots of dead kobolds in your wake. There's too many of the smelly things.
