Default charm monster, mass and globes of invulnerability

Anyone able to tell me if mobs charmed by the spell "charm monster, mass" will lose thier party hat in a globe of minor invulnerability?

-I saw a guy charm a beholder the other night in von 3 ......that beholder went after another beholder and the anti-magic broke the charm.

-when you summon a monster via the spell and the monster gets hit by anti-magic it becomes a yellow named mob and attacks you.

I would have to assume that when the senario that you have presented occurs the results would be similiar.............but I cant be sure without checking myself.

Hes actually asking because globe of invulnerability turns off all spells of lvl 4 and under. His thinking is that mass charm monster is like casting a 4th level spell on lots of things, which could be turned off with the globe.

Real Answer: It shouldnt. If it does, it is a bug as charm monster, mass is a lvl 8 spell. Just because it is a more wide-ranging version of a lower level spell doesnt mean it acts as multiple lowbie spells

Otherwise delayed blast fireball would just be a lvl 3 spell that takes a while to happen.

On a side note, it is funny to see people using globes as charm dispels being the moment the monster walks out of the globe the just go back under the charm effects. Its quite humorous when used in conjunction with things like Acid Fog.

DB fireball is not a valid comparison.

Look at all the other mass spells. All the cures are the exact effect of the lower level spells only on multiple targets. Same with the buffs, (except maybe SR).

If charm monster mass is simply charm monster on multiple targets, then the charm that is on it should be the level 4 charm, but heightened. Now if the "free" heighten is the issue, I will understand if the spell in not dropped by the globe.

Really, I'd just like to know if anyone has tried it on the test server. (Or even better, a dev with the answer of how they intend for it to work.)

Can't you just ask a wizard to try Bull's Strength vs. Mass Bull's Strength in the globe? Its nearly the same question, just on a different spell.
