Default anyone notice spells not landing?

I was doing an ore run in BAM with a sorceror and when I cast firewall on dancing mobs it wasn't doing any damage, despite the mobs being directly in it. This happened several times through out the quest. I only comment because it did make it annoying as it used up more mana than normal. I do the run frequently enough to notice. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this or whether it is happening with other spells?

there lots of issues with invisible walls in the game stopping lots of spells and ranged attacks from working, turbine say they are aware of it and plan to have it fixed sometime next year i think.

I did notice that just once last night my firewall did no damage to some undead and a flesh renderer I was kiting thru it.

I dismissed it as a fluke. then later on that night I toasted everything from trolls to drow in VON 2.

One of those cases were my eyes may have been decieving me.

I've been playing around with Lightning Bolt, and I find it misses a lot. I suspect it is the same problem associated with ranged combat and hope it will be fixed in the next mod.

i find any targeted spell will ALWAYS miss if cast at a creature at point blank range. however if i cast the same spell at the floor that the effects will always hit the creature. it seems to be a targeting bug imo.

Yep. When I hit a creature with a fireball most of the time the explosive damage doesn't register. But when I hit the floor I get the proper feedback. Most of the time.

    Default As per the topic

THIS HAPPENS ALL THE STINKING TIME!!! Learn to adapt.

Scorching ray sometimes slams into the target for a direct hit... and deals no damage. Not a single number, not even 0.

    Fireball does this(though not often)

Melf's does this(40% of the time, not exaggerating).

I've even seen player side Searing Light do it!

Just call it Manaburn and learn to adapt. Of course if it's your last cast and you want it to deal that final 26 damage to that Troll Champion that will kill you in one hit... tough luck. Res out and come in with mana to finish the job.

Yes, it happens with damaging spells sometimes. It happens to me when a target is moving more often than when static. I usually just deal with it by recasting, or die. LOL

Yes, I noticed it happens when I try to use a combo.... mass para and fire wall. The fire wall does no damage. Same spot, same dungeon, I just use fire wall and a tank to hold them there, fire wall does damage..... saves mana I guess

On a side note.... every notice when you cast some buff spells, some are a dud? How many times have you casted GH on someone as you enter a dungeon (and they moved already so you know they are fully in), you cast a GH or any other buff... and nothing.... like a misfire.

well, some buffs get overshadowed by others. Even though i told him why, and that it didn't stack with my bard song, this guy kept casting bless over and over, trying to get it to stick. Or if i have my bardsong going, and my Greater Heroism clickie, when i cast good hope for the rest of the party's benefit, i don't get any feedback, since every aspect of good hope is overshadowed by the other two buffs. Luckily not all buffs are overshadowed quite this way, since expeditious retreat isn't removed when you catch a short duration haste, it just doesn't stack, and blur isn't removed when you get displacement.

yes i do adapt (i cast at floors etc..)

BUT it is a bug and should be fixed! we get around the problem but the problem is still there. Ressing out and coming back sure gets the job done, but with xp debt and reentry penality, because of.... a bug in the program forced us to.

if there was a bug that deleted your bank account about 40% of the time, would you still say, "call it xxxx and learn to adapt?" or would you make sure everyone knows about it so it can get fixed?

its a bug, plain and simple, everyone experiences it at some point in there casters life.

Please get the bug fixed so we DONT have to adapt all the time

Today I only had to recall out of Chains of Flame twice to get mana for(because of) buggy spells that didnt work right.

That run sure is one heck of a grind. It's no wonder almost nobody wants to do DQ raids anymore.
