I don't see that being the case at all. Perhaps you've just been unlucky.

To the topic, I'm floored by this whole incident. I was at the event for almost the entire thing and never once saw any spamming. If anything, it was those of us emoting while we were waiting who were "spamming". What I don't understand is why no one ever actually told us at the event to knock it off or whatever. Makes me think it was someone with a chip on their shoulder.

Another thing I don't understand is if there actually is any protocol we're supposed to follow, why isn't it made clear?

I would dearly love to see a lot more events happening on our server, but something like this sure isn't going to make anyone else jump at the idea of hosting (or participating in) another event.

Myself, in particular, and Deathwatch Guard, in general, have plans for several Guild/Server/Game wide events we would like to run. If it is going to be risking 4 day bans just to run something for everyone on Khyber, which is already difficult to put together, why bother? I would like some response to this, so I know that it is OK for me to run events like this without getting infraction points/banned.

Exactly, We at the Trinity (Divine Calling, Devoted Acolytes, and Holy Warriors) have put on many Server events,
and would like to continue to do so. They are fun for everyone, and everyone is always welcome.
When did meeting new people and giving away stuff become a bad thing?

I am clearly in dismay over the whole situation. Player sponsored events are an facat of every MMORPG. I got the first set of +5 mithral full plate I ever recieved from an event. It was small and only one question was asked but it was still an event. Lots of new blood were there that night and we walked around and made sure most people got something that were there and participated even if it was a candy cane to say happy holidays. I have been playing this game and I have never seen something so out of line.

When Turbine gets dogged on the Khyber forums many of the people know I always seem to stick up for them. I love this game and the people I have come to know, but when something like this happens I feel like becoming one of the rabble rousers. I won't discuss the incident but Turbine, this disheartens me. I was the co-host of the event in question and I did most of the talking on the general chat server. We planned on hosting another event in the near future but as of now, until you, Turbine, give us a written set of guidelines, the Dwarven Defenders will host no more live events.

As a guild leader I ask the other guild leaders of our server and others to take a firm stand against player-hosted events until Turbine has posted said set guidelines. Please sign this petition for the request of something formal from our game's creator.
Thank you for all of your support concerning the issue I will not talk about.

    Default so

does anyone know what really happened

i have heard rumors that people get banned just for the reason that someone is calling gm and they dont consider much except the reason they were called there in the first place

was there grounds for ban or wasnt there

i have been banned a few times and for each time i actualy did break rule that was punioshable by ban

but never because someone just reported them

i would love to know the actual grounds for ban can i see a screen shot or something like that maybe paste of an email or what not?

Even though I come from the anti event server Argonesson, I gotta say that this is a little ridiculous, as the event was vetted by turbine and postedi n the calendar, also the player was given no warning to stop, just an email detailing his ban. Tolero and Quarion may not control the GM's but they gave us all this speil about how they wanted t support player lead events, well its time to put your money where your mouth is Turbine , as this is a perect example of the marketing team colliding with the service team.
