C'mon people
Keep this alive.
Let's show big server wide support for our brothers.
Let Turbine know we are not happy with these recent events.
BTW Turbine,
Where's our list of acceptable uses of general chat?
Where's our list of acceptable ways to host player sponsored events?

Lets not.
Both those threads are about one incedent that we only have one side of the story on.
Player run event occur every day.... Maybe general chat was being spammed. Theres noreason we cant use /tells or instances like House P (THe actual House.. Which is its own chat instance..... that no one ever has a reason to use) That never get used.
:P
Listen, You're not even on our server.
If you don't want to support player sponsored events on your server, that's fine, but we do.
We also want Turbine to provide us with the "Rules" for said events to avoid further issues.
I'm originally from Riedra and we hosted player events all the time.
We were also one of the firiendliest Servers pre-merge, and Proud of it.
We host events, meet new players, give away equipment and plat, as well as teach the newer players
what we have learned. Helping others is not a bad thing and shouldn't be punished.
Sending a message out in general chat to let people know of an event that is currently going on is NOT spamming general chat.
When my Guild hosts events, we have one or two people running around putting information about the event in General chat, so that
anyone who is interested can attend. I've done this on numerous occasions and never been accused of "Spamming"
I've met some great people through player/guild sponsored events and hope to continue to meet more.
Maybe instead of criticizing us, you should stop over on Khyber sometime and meet a bumch of really nice people.
Maybe run with the Dwarven Defenders, it might open your eyes to what "good" people are. <Shrug>
But please do not troll this thread.
You may use this link http://forums.ddo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10 and go spew your venom there.
We have Great people on our server and we'll stand behind them 100%

Those of us who were at the event know the report of spamming was unfounded. If you don't want to "support" better handling of player run events by the in-game GMs, then leave the thread alone.
You're on Thelanis, y'all may have player run events all the time. We don't on Khyber. You may not have issues arise, good for you. That's not the case here.
I've already contacted someone about this and while I don't think I can say specifically what I was told (I don't want to put words in their mouth too), a meeting was indicated. What outcome there will be, if any, we'll hopefully hear before too long.

We do too guys! We do too!
While we don't discuss action taken on a player account with anyone other than the player himself, I can tell you this:
Using General Chat and LFM for your player-run event is NOT a ban able offense, or even against the rules, unless the messaging violates the published code of conduct.
However, we did notice that this issue popped up during our authentication server issues last weekend, which resulted in error messages that could appear as if someone may have been removed from the game. The message stated " You do not have an active subscription to this game" even if a player did, and they were unable to login. Your friend may have been a victim of this error.
We can appreciate your passion and enthusiasm in supporting your friend, but we can only assist him if he contacts us at http://support.turbine.com, and we cannot discuss or assist any other player with his issue.
To clarify on the rules:
It is not against the rules to have an event and promote it reasonably through General Chat or the LFM panel. (As long as your event fits under the "We're looking for more players for this event" message.
However, if your messaging in General Chat or the LFM panel violates the code of conduct, or you are flooding the chat window with messages over and over within seconds, this is unacceptable and may result in a warning on your first offense, or other action.
Also, in the future, I know they are going are planning on upgrading the chat technology to include custom chat windows like Trade, LFG, and probably EVENTS, which will help organize the chat more appropriately.
I hope this helps address your concerns and I look forward to seeing your future events!!
