so people are upset becuase they feel the gm's actually were UnFAIR? lol come on, they are unfair all the time, but regardless, the post is closed without comment? GM's wake up, we give u money, how about some love?

I don't see that being the case at all. Perhaps you've just been unlucky.
To the topic, I'm floored by this whole incident. I was at the event for almost the entire thing and never once saw any spamming. If anything, it was those of us emoting while we were waiting who were "spamming". What I don't understand is why no one ever actually told us at the event to knock it off or whatever. Makes me think it was someone with a chip on their shoulder.
Another thing I don't understand is if there actually is any protocol we're supposed to follow, why isn't it made clear?
I would dearly love to see a lot more events happening on our server, but something like this sure isn't going to make anyone else jump at the idea of hosting (or participating in) another event.![]()

Then darkness would eat me. Cold would devour me.
I would die naked beneath a blackthorn, keening for the missing moon.
Myself, in particular, and Deathwatch Guard, in general, have plans for several Guild/Server/Game wide events we would like to run. If it is going to be risking 4 day bans just to run something for everyone on Khyber, which is already difficult to put together, why bother? I would like some response to this, so I know that it is OK for me to run events like this without getting infraction points/banned.
.
Exactly, We at the Trinity (Divine Calling, Devoted Acolytes, and Holy Warriors) have put on many Server events,
and would like to continue to do so. They are fun for everyone, and everyone is always welcome.
When did meeting new people and giving away stuff become a bad thing?

I am clearly in dismay over the whole situation. Player sponsored events are an facat of every MMORPG. I got the first set of +5 mithral full plate I ever recieved from an event. It was small and only one question was asked but it was still an event. Lots of new blood were there that night and we walked around and made sure most people got something that were there and participated even if it was a candy cane to say happy holidays. I have been playing this game and I have never seen something so out of line.
When Turbine gets dogged on the Khyber forums many of the people know I always seem to stick up for them. I love this game and the people I have come to know, but when something like this happens I feel like becoming one of the rabble rousers. I won't discuss the incident but Turbine, this disheartens me. I was the co-host of the event in question and I did most of the talking on the general chat server. We planned on hosting another event in the near future but as of now, until you, Turbine, give us a written set of guidelines, the Dwarven Defenders will host no more live events.
As a guild leader I ask the other guild leaders of our server and others to take a firm stand against player-hosted events until Turbine has posted said set guidelines. Please sign this petition for the request of something formal from our game's creator.
Thank you for all of your support concerning the issue I will not talk about.
I was at the event, and I must say Kudo's. I had a blast and thought it was hilarious.
Of course a member of my guild got best dressed, and I won 25 res scrolls, so I'm a little biased.
Dwarven Defenders keep up the good work.
Let us know and we will be at the next one.
I know I have to watch what I say, so ill just say...
Turbine I know you can't support or moderate player held events, but can we make a way to post live events in here somewhere so the GM's will be aware of the event and not think its violating TOS?

I hate to say it but, this is what happens when everyone endlessly reports everyone.
I think it's all nonsense...There just HAS to be a better way to deal with things like this. Whoever reported this should be ashamed. Devs I know you don't like to hear it from us but every toon on every server has a squelch feature that could have been used. I know you guys are just trying to keep us in a nice little community but, things like this are just short sighted. Please reconsider this heavy handed behavior in general. I love this game and I think all the banning is just damaging to the game.

I expect action and community response from Turbine on this, and I expect it soon.
If it does not happen, we as a community must reject these actions. We should start with staging protests. If that doesn't work, it's time to get serious about organizing a mass boycott of the game. I have several potential plans for this.
This is BULL. The reporting idiots have gone too far, the heavy-handed GMs need to wake up and learn to research a situation.
I still wish there were a way to punish false/malicious reporters. Say, if a reported action is determined to be unfounded, the reportee gets punished. This would eliminate all reports done with the intention of griefing, and will make sure that anyone filing a report is really in the right.
I think All Guild Officers and Leaders need to sign this and show thier support for both Soilent and
Player/Guild Sponsored events.
We need to make a stand and show the in game GMs how the community feels about these type of events.
There is a big difference between spamming the General chat with WTT or WTS and telling people about a live
event that is going on and that they are welcome to join.
I hope in the future these types of things are researched more before being so quick to discipline.
This has gotten out of hand and we as a community need to band together.
We do not need to talk about what actions were taken, as that will get this thread closed, but we do need to
voice our opinion on how wrong this was and that we as a community feel an apology is due.
Why does Turbine want to stop players from having a sense of community in the virtual world?
"Khyber Server Pride! Discuss anything about your server here" Yeah, I'm real proud to be a part of Khyber now.

I should have also received the same. I was spamming emotes rather regularily, ordering ale from the Goldenwing Inn, passing it around on a regular basis to all in attendence, knitting brightly colored socks for the festival jester etc etc. anything to add to the atmosphere of the event and to have a little fun. If anything I filled up general chat much more than anyone else did. So where is my slap? Should not everything be fair?
I will not support or sponsor any events until this is dealt with. A policy needs to be put in place by Turbine regarding such events with clear guildelines and rules.

Come on this is really ridiculous. I am usually the "runner" for our events (the Trinity Guild's- Divine Calling, Devoted Acolytes, Holy Warriors) and it's the general chat I use... nothing ever is sent to me- 'cept maybe a tell asking more information.
I support Solient...and anyone else who has hosted or will host a Player/Guild sponsored event.
[COLOR="Red"]it's not about the xp but the experience.
All my characters start with "Elder"
I think we need a much better definition of what the different chat channels are used for.
And perhaps we also need a better definition of spam. Saturday night I was in a group attempting the Abbott. While one group member happened to be in the inn, I typed out a blurb about buying heal scrolls as Christmas presents from Qwijymart for your guild cleric. Once. The guy got all ****ed off in-party (not knowing that I am Qwijy), ranting and raving about how he doesn't want to see that spam on his screen.
Excuse me? Spam? I typed one line one time, and didn't recycle it at all. Get a grip, you ******.
Furthermore, what is the point of a general channel if you can't advertise things for sale? There's a world of difference between popping a "WTT/S XXX of YYY" once every 15 minutes and actually SPAMMING it.
Seriously, people, if general chat bothers you that much, why do you have that window open?
Well since I am the Special Events/Contest Officer of the Trinity Guild, I wold love to see some set guidelines for hosting server wide events. After all, if they can not tell us straight up what is acceptable and not acceptable when events like this are concerned, then how can the punish us. It's like setting a plate of cookies on the table, and then after the child has eaten three or four of them telling them that they are not allowed to have any and punishing them for getting into them.
Your complaint has been lodged, duly noted, and swiftly rejected.
Sometimes you just have to laugh, because everything else is illegal.

I think we shoudl start a terrorist ogranization against the DDO Team. A few drive by caravan bombs here, a suicide complaint there. Something that will get their attention.
