i could dig this. Something that you have to give permission to use, so pugs aren't eyeballing your stats before they decide if your good enough or not.

I'd like to request that the devs give us a mechanic with which we can look at each other's characters as though they were our own. This should be an option, obviously, but I'd really like to see it brought into the game. My reasoning is that I often find myself being asked for advice on builds by newer players. I'm more than happy to oblige, but it gets rather tedious having to ask them what every single thing they did in character creation consisted of. I think this mechanic would greatly assist veteran players in their assisting of newer players. Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter.

no attention grabbing confirmation box though, maybe something in the chat window like when someone tries to join your LFM. It drives me nuts the amount of blind invites i get, i'd hate to have every numbskull in creation trying to check out my character without asking and have me run off into the lava because i was typing something in chat.

Yeah thats the one thing about WoW that drives me nuts. No privacy on your builds. Everyone gocking!

i wonder if i might get some dev input on this? as i think it would help the newer player base, which is very good for the diversity and longevity of the game, i think this would be a very worthwhile topic to discuss. or even just a pop in to say "we saw it"?

At first i was thinking a spectator mode, like in fps, which would be fun.

But anyways just come to the forums for build info..

Eh... I don't know that it would really change anything.

My build advice generally goes like this...

Me: What were you hoping to do with that character?
Newb: I wanted to twf, (or be a sneaky rogue, or an arcane cannon, or whatever)
Me: That's cool... you should focus on getting your xxx stat as high as possible and get skills A, B and C up too. 123 is a nice feat for that build, and keep an eye out for lmnop type weapons.

Generally speaking, the person is still going to have to learn the game, and you don't need an uber build to do that with, just an open mind.

Actually "seeing" the build isn't going to change much for me.

what do you mean? im not talking about giving the newbies a particular copy of a build, but being able to advise them on what they want to do and how they may not have built the best way for that. maybe they dont know how vastly different a 14 str and an 18 str is for meleeing and are wondering why they are missing so much?



a lot of newbies dont even know about the forums and arent keen on learning how while they are still learning the game.
