Whats up with clerics anyways?

Try not taking any damage. Then you won't have to use any potions.

maybe they just choose not to heal you because of your lack of tact. Now we know now that since you had a bad incident all clerics must be equally bad.

these type of posts will make sure you don't get healed even if there are 5 clerics in your group. good luck with that.

Just seems to me it doesn't take all that much to keep someone alive with so many HP's and AC.

Just because you have a lot of hp that doesnt mean your not squishy. oh and hp doesnt count as ac.

next have you played a cleric? if not try it. it's not as easy as you think.

third a clerics job is not to heal you. go read Defenders of the Faith. we are basicly the everything class we melee, offencive casting, deffencive casting, turning, oh and yes healing.

Forth dont be jelous be cause some cleric dropped a BB and out killed you

You may just not understand how many clerics are playing at the higher levels. I know my Heal spell cures at a rate of around 10:1 and heals at least 480 HP, while the cure line heals at a rate of as low as 4:1 and mass cure isn't always paractical. So yes I will let you get as low 25% before I spend my spell ponts on a heal. Good clericing in my option. If you are worried that we might not get to you in time use those pots. Why should I pay for a wand or scrolls to keep you alive if your not even willing to help out.

Don't like the way we play our clerics, roll your own and show us how.

See, the problem is that, as a cleric, you get blamed for every death in the party regardless of how it was caused. By the time you hit level 14 you've been blamed for so many deaths that you just stop caring. The upside is that you also start taking more risks with your cleric. You'll be more focused on cometfalls, bladebarriers and destructs and realize just how powerful an offensive cleric is. With the efficiency of your heal spell you'll start to let people go to 1/3, 1/4, incap before even bothering to heal because every little bit you overheal adds up towards less cometfall fun.

The way I see it, clerics become callous at higher levels because they didn't get enough hugs while leveling up

i dunno bout any other cleric, but here i go again.. #1 a cleric cannot make what he spends on a quest if he uses wands and scrolls!!!#2NOONE tips anymore!!!#3 if a cleric runs outta mana a few things are gunna happen, your gunna die, he's gunna use wands and scrolls, to keep you alive so you can zerg ahead and die anyways(which makes ppl mad when they die) then you call them crappy clerics, or the whole party waits till the cleric calls out for mana.. IE loses exp if not capped, or finds a shrine!9 times outta 10 the party has at least 1 person that WONT wait and causes a party wipe or close to it. this is NOT always the situation but in 2 years of playing i have seen it SOOOO many times. so use pots and ease the cleric mana use. YES there are cleric that do what you say BB and destruction and TANK (god forbid) when i figure out those names i tend to NOT play with them anymore. i really dont care how anyone else plays there cleric or THINKS they know the best way, it's simple and a fact, a cleric in a party IS expected to heal that party. if your playing with those that dont want to it's really simple, next time you see that cleric just dont play with them, i assure you when word gets around they will eventually not play that character much > BOTTOM LINE IS: use the common sense god gave ya!

Y'know what I find on my cleric? The dumb fighters chuggin pots cause I wont heal that 23 hps worth of damage they
just took.

I used to say, "Dont worry XXX Im watchin' ya" but I dont any more. Aint my money.

Esteban, heres a simple solution: Cleric won't heal you? Don't pull aggro off the cleric. 2 things are gunna happen. 1) The cleric realizes they need you more than they thought. 2) Your party wipes. Either way you win.

Interesting. Another person who does not realize just how powerful a properly built, properly played cleric really is.

The real outcome would be:

All characters who are not self sufficient die. Cleric, WF casters, (and umd characters), Bards, ect., take care of buisness. Someone then either raises the non self sufficient, or puts soulstone in backpack and leaves them there till next shrine (whenever that may be) since they are not needed anyway.
