    Default Can't log in....YET AGAIN.....:(

So here I was playing this evening and what happens....same thing different night. My gf and I have are toons lock up and unable to move, then after a few minutes the game closes says the connection to the server has been lost. Computer running fine, internet works great if I open another program and this happens on 2 different computers. So I reboot and try again...get to the log in screen for Ghallanda, see all my friendly toons yet try to log one in and nada...just a loading screen that doesn't move. Yet again, as this just happened a day or so ago.

I see there is a scheduled hotfix for around 11am today being about 9 hours away I have to rule that issue out...sooooooo

Here I am yet again shaking my head wondering just how much longer this is going to go on as these types of outages are completely unacceptable. If the service will only be available 8 hours a day get it run and running no less then 100% for those 8 hours, if your advertising 24 hours of play then take steps to ensure that happens. Scheduled down time for maintenance or other issues...perfectly understandable, the extremely rare natural disaster...again irritating to most yet understandable, reoccurring random general errors, downtime or other issues....nothing short of unacceptable in any profession.

What would you do if your cellular company had erratic service, your internet was up and down several times a month, or even the gas station you frequent most was closed at random times...we all know the answer....you find a new service.

I LOVE the game, have for 30 years and ddo is beautiful realization of something that started when I was a child and I'll be around in game as lone as it last, but things are looking grim as I grow weary. My gf started playing less then a month ago and as I couldn't find my cd we went shopping, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, EBgames, Staples...not a new or used game on the shelf...she had to download it off the internet as it isn't being marketed....

    A sad but loyal fan

Might I suggest a look at the following tchnical thread. Depending on your hardware/network settings you may have the port collision issue described here. http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=129535

    Hope this helps!

So what are you getting; your getting to your toons but then it hangs on loading them? If so this is not a log in issue as you have passed that point of the authentication. Are you able to get just one machine to connect and in?

no the other machine is off and your correct I'm referring to logging in any toon not the log in server requiring the name and password as I make it past that. So again, I'm looking at all my toons and if I try to log one into the game I get stuck staring at the loading screen....until the game disconnects.

As I haven't seen any others come to the forums yet I wnated to throw this idea out as well; this is screaming as a firewall setting. I know Symantec is notorious for screwing up the 'approved software list' when they do a software update. I would just double check the software firewall logs and would consider suspending the firewall for 15 minutes and try to connect...just to rule it out.

I cannot say if it will get you on-line; but it cannot hurt to check it out.

    Good luck!

    Never is...

And nothing has changed in your computer...

I've had it happen where I was stuck in place and every time I logged in I was stuck in place. It was my router as far as I can tell. I would powercycle everything and be fine for months on end. Doesn't seem to happen anymore to me.
