I would like to know if everybody hates Coyle as much as I do. Please list some of your experiences on dealing with this individual. I would really like to see the dev's come up with a quest in which i can punish Coyle for all the times I had to run Thernal East3.

I believe he may be referring to back before you could do any of that stuff to Coyle. Now he's easy to keep alive. Back then? Tougher, especially on elite.

I thought that at first too, but the forum join date is a bit off for that.

and even then, he would have been around longer with the ability to heal than not.

Regardless he's still annoying as all ****, I swear every time I hear "There's a Fire Reaver in the library..." I want to disintigrate him.

If you just stand back, he'll zerg and get himself killed almost immediately. You can watch him die over and over, and with the new auto-boot from the quest now, you can just watch it again and again. I've been torturing him like this for months while I wait for pugs to assemble that my characters could fit into.

Hmm. Maybe he's like that because I've been torturing him on East 3.

One thing i can say is forum Join date means nothing. I played for 8-10 months before coming onto forums

yea i have been playing since march 07 and i know you can heal him. My post was not for tips on how to keep him alive just for others to vent about the most hated NPC in all of DDO.

I dislike him too.

That quest annoys me - if he had the sense to not be such a zerging tard, he'd be easy to keep alive. But no, he has to aggro everything, and get himself iron golem aggro when I'd much rather the golems were aggroed on the charmed Gargoyles and Mephits (and, if you use Symbol of Persuasion, charmed rust monsters :-) )

Thank you, that felt much better. Memories of completing threnal east elite pre-healing and buffing coyle still linger in my scarred psyche.

Ok, I don't care when you first started playing with Coyle, If you have experianced him at all, you should HATE HIM!!!!! I mean if there was a character named coyle, i wouldnt' even adventure with him. Coyle is a giant idiot who really wants to die, and I say LET HIM!!! or at least give us one day that he respawns in the Bar, so we can all kick his jdfkdj for fun. Personally a nice flesh to stone and fjdkjf slap him would be great. I even call the guy standing out in the orchard with the chest, Coyles big brother.

Of course Coyle has always been quite simple to deal with but the post was and is about disliking him, not about keeping his butt alive , that's always been quite doable in east... he dies in south anyway.

I would say bloody heck yes I dislike him... You go through the trouble of finding a library for him - I admit takes but 30-40 seconds, then get him down to the library and into the door ... good xp and takes but 30 minutes tops, then defending him in the library, aye 15 minutes of babysitting.

However! Does he appreciate any of this? Bloody heck NO! He finds what he's after in the library then goes to south, kills off his friends and opens the bloody gate chamber and gets himself killed so you have to clean up after his big mess anyway Personally, when you think about it ... It would be easy to skip to the chase and Kill Coyle yourself upfront in east part two. Then you would not have to deal with him being a traitor come south.
