It's all a matter of personal taste and planned build.
THF = Dwarf with Greataxes (the only race with bonus to 2H weapons)
TWF = Elf/Drow with dual Rapiers
Versatility = Human with extra feat to help with prereqs
My THF warchanter is human .. who needs stinky dwarves anyway!

I think mad bombardier pretty much has the handle on it although a dwarf dual wielding khopeshes or axes would be a nice twf build considering their hardiness.

I did mine warforged style and love it. The immunites are great. If I was to do one now I'd go wf or dwarf.

hey, a dwarf 'chanter can dual wield just as well, more so with dwarven war axe and a handaxe combo. They aren't limited to a greataxe.
Well, I'd say if you go Str-based, Dwarven are also very interesting with the Axe enhancements plus Dwarven Toughness, plus, it'd let you use all the RR Axes.
Human are also very intesreting, as bards are so tight on feats that one more feat can mean much more DPS.
WF are also very good for THF with their PA enhancements.

Dwarf: Offense, durability
Drow: Easy stat buys / Offense
Elf: Offense
Human: Much needed flexibility in a tricky build
---- not so great ----
Halfling: Cute
Warforged: Durability
Overall I think dwarf best counter balances the weakness of a warchanter, but its low charisma works against the spell casting side. So if you want a kind of singing barbarian its probably the best way to go. If you would rather rely on casting to be your main defense, then elf/drow/human are great. Elf/Drow lends well to TWF rapier action and Human lets you add a little something extra to the build, what exactly is up to the builder.
Don't forget one other good point in humans - improved recovery.
When you need to self-heal yourself in a pinch; this can go a long way to making you heal yourself enough.

All of my bards have been Drow. Tried human bards a couple times and they just didn't feel right to me. My fighter/tanks tend to be human. My clerics are all over the place - dwarven, halfling & now drow.

Every race can make a great warchanter. Each race has it's own spin. Even halfling is good with dragonmarks, saves, and hero's companion. Just depends what style of warchanter you like.
Human has the 'best' offensive potential, imo. Assuming we agree that dual-wielding is the better offensive style (from a damage perspective),
+1 to Str, +1 free feat (Khopesh), Action boost for + to damage.
Axes just aren't quite as good of DPS as rapiers, so I'd put the Drow ahead of Dwarf for offense, although the Dwarf does have some nice HP options.

TWF - Dwarf dual wielding Dwarven Axes also works. I was going to say that it's harder to get 19 DEX for SupTWF. But unless you take a level of Fighter at 20, Bards can't get SupTWF anyway.
Human TWF with Khopeshes is also fun.![]()
