Are there any plans for new character slots in the future? I would love a few more to try out experimental builds without having to delete old toons.
Thanks!

Altoholic here.
I was debating on deleting a character to try something new, but I can't decide which I would like to get rid of or which of the multiple ideas I would like to try. I am always for more character slots per server.

Ditto I hope we get one for each new class that gets added (and new race)

Same here, I dont really want to delete my ftr14 but he has been the least played and my desire to start another character is sparking up again. Will not buy two accounts, dont see how it should be needed to continue enjoying the game.
If and when a new class is brought into the game I dont see how they could get around openning more slots but you never know. Heres hoping.
I keep filling up all the servers and then I think of another creation... I hate that

It would be nice if we had 11 slots like on the Euro server![]()
THe number of servers should have nothing to do with the number of character slots we get.
We have the Exact same amount of time available to us to play as the folks over in Europe. Time doesnt move any slower across the pond, alowing them to level up characters faster and have to play alts.
a Well structured database should not have a theoretical limit.
You should appreciate the fact that we can create X characters per server. In EQ and EQ2 you got X characters. Period. If X = 6, then you get a total of 6 characters to spread across the servers. That's it.
Although, I think they increased it to 7 or 8 by now; it's been a couple years since I last played.
It's the OP here. I am sure the Dev's get asked this a lot. I am also sure that if I hunted around the forums enough, I could probably find the answer. But what is the 2 sentence answer? Any hope of new slots down the line or just learn to deal?
Thanks

Meh.
WoW has X slots per server. As does LotRO (or so I have heard). And those all have virtually the same class structure as EQ and EQ2. I don't know about CoX, Lineage, DAoC, or any other MMO.
All I am saying is that we should be thankful for what we have. Granted, more is nice, but I don't think more character slots is important enough to use resources on.
Disclaimer: The second paragraph is an opinion.
Back when this first came out, the devs indicated we would get new slots as we got new races and classes so that nobdy would be forced to delete characters to try out new things. However if you created characters on 2 merged servers and you are currently over the limit then you will haev to prune back your used slots

WHat percentage of players, do you honestly believe, play on a regular basis on 2 or more servers?
Forget about the folks that abusded the merger anouncment and went and made characters strictly because they knew they would get merged......
I want to play on Thelanis.... Thats where my Friends are.....
As for EQ haveing X amount of slots.. not a good comparison.. EQ has 20 times the amount of end game content we do. ANd have had for a LONG time..... There are also a LOT more things to do other than Loot run.
CoX allows 10+/server and has about 10 servers. CoX also has a LOT of different possible builds you can create and so offers you a lot of slots to try different things on.
5 Hero archetypes with 4-7 main powers and 4-7 secondary power-sets each. 5 Villain archetypes same power breakdown. Add in the optional power-sets that include things like travel powers and excellent character helping options and you have a lot of possible builds to try.
