Default ldesert and giant cave loot runs

as you thieves may have noticed there have been changes since mod 5 and Lessah's video regarding stealth looting in the desert, giant caves and invisibility. For example, invisibility has become more effective at losing a monster's attention when combined with stealth and now it appears the monsters who patrol will stop, turn a random direction to scan for enemies (really thieves) and then continue their patrol.

it used to be easier to predict their patrol run and sneak behind them for example, this is no longer the case. so has anyone run any loot runs in the desert lately? less concerned with giant caves. anyone new ones pop up?

I haven't done it recently, but invisibility has always worked like that. Those chests aren't worth the time spent to me, anymore, however.

All the areas I used to stealth are still just as fun and just as steathable. The difference I have noticed is that when you open a chest, you are almost garunteed to be seen. Run... run fast... I also never use invisibility...ever. I like cammofladge much better, and for my rogue, just plain sneaking around is great! I think the funnest moment for me so far was in VON 3, after a party wipe, I got to stealth around beholders and pick up stones.

I do not do it as much these days, mostly because I got rich! I have also not tried to stealth new areas as I have learned that wraiths and spectors can see me pretty easy. I loooooove stealthing those caves though, they are way fun! Also, I like the fact that other players are patient enough to take stealth seriously and to try it out. I have noticed that I can loose a monsters aggro now as well. I was never able to do that before. I will have to work on this one and get back to you.

I'll never be "The Dancing Rogue" but everyone needs a goal right?

    cheers

My wizard friend likes to cast DDoor or teleport after looting the chest - could always try that with rogues UMDing scrolls (or dragonmarks of passage, if any ever take that)
