    Default Client Crash Error

    I just downloaded the client and it installed and downloaded just fine. However, when I run the actual program, I get an error message that goes like this:

    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): ?
    at com.turbine.launcher.Services.Patcher.InitializePa tchWrapper()
    at com.turbine.launcher.Services.Patcher.BeginPatchin g(Boolean ignorePatchWindow)
    at com.turbine.launcher.Launcher.Patch(Boolean invokedByConnectRetry)
    at com.turbine.launcher.Launcher.Patch()
    at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallba cks()

    I have been playing the pen-and-paper D&D for some time now and I decided to give the MMO a shot. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thursday and Friday in the US are a holiday for most people across the country, that said:

    If you are on vista and are receiving this message, it could be because the shortcut which runs the Invoker (DDO icon) has the wrong "Start in:" folder. To determine if this is the case, please follow the instructions below.

    Click Start
    Click Games
    Right-click “The Lord of the Rings Online” icon
    Click Customize
    Select “Play”
    Click Edit button

    “Start In” should read “C:\Program Files\Turbine\Dungeons and Dragons Online\

    If the Invoker has the correct “Start in” folder, open a command window. To do so:

    1. Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command Prompt
    2. Select: Run as Administrator
    3. type: cd "C:\program files\turbine\dungeons and dragons online\"
    4. Hit enter
    5. type: regsvr32 .\PatchWrapper.dll
    6. Hit enter (you should get a success message)
    7. type: regsvr32 .\PatchWrapperPS.dll
    8. Hit enter (you should get a success message)
    9. Try launching the game again.

    If the registration fails, you will see a descriptive message (rather than just an exit code) which should help you find the exact problem.

    Default failed

    I got the same launcher error.
    DDO is in C:\games\turbine
    I tried following your fix.
    following the cd command I got this message:The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
    I tried the cd command using C:\games\turbine
    Itried regsvr32
    got failed to load responce

    put the directory structure to whatever yours is instead of the default.
