    Default New Dragon Please

Well let me say I was STOKED to see the black dragon in new pre-raid, I was a little upset that we cant fight him. His lines of questioning either lead onward to the quest or lead to you getting cooked like fries in a fry basket (which btw shouldnt rogues who make their evasion save be left standing there completely unharmed from a point blank blast of acid dragon breath? Hey don't blame me I didn't make the rules!). And when were black dragons known for chatting it up and helping you on quests, I'm pretty sure any short dialogue he would have with a band of good adventurers would end up in their deaths.

Anyway I'm not here solely to complain about the linear-ness of our MMORPG, I did like that they brought some D&D alignment lore into the game after all more use for alignment is something we asked for. I'd really like to see another dragon raid and not one in outer space that hides behind a force field and not ones that are sub-bosses. I think a lot of people could appreciate a more traditional fantasy dragon encounter think something a little less Eberron/Mechanical more Forgotten Realms/Dragonlance Fantasy. It would also be a great way to introduce red dragon scales and armor if you should make it a red.

If they take the reavers fate quest line to its completion, the dragon with whom the storm reaver made the pact with would be next. In his current form he is in fact a dracolich.

With the unhealthy obession with undead the devs seem to have, I wouldn't be suprised to have the first "real" dragon we see be a ...SHADOW Dragon...or the affore mentioned Dracolich
...the eyes of a ghastly white vampire stare back at you...his fangs gleam in the light from your torches and lanterns...In your heart, you know that most who have seen this face never lived to see another

Here's my suggestion to the Devs.

Have a quest (possibly a raid, possibly a normal quest) with the final battle being against a red/purple named blackguard (perhaps a githyanki?) riding a red dragon that actually flies.

Fighting a flying enemy requires very different tactics to fighting a dragon with its wings clipped like Velah, Grundrassir or the other 2 in Gianthold Tor.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

And as soon as they have one monster riding another, all the Pallies will be screaming for their mounts!

As for me, I will want my own (Lawful Good of course!) pet Dragon to ride!!!

I'd be happy with the nightmare unicorn my PnP wizard tamed/beat into submission.

That does not sound very Paladin-like, but I am sure it worked out well for your Wizi!

Oh, come on. You just have to think a bit creatively.

I mean, unicorns are lawfully-goodly types right? So what if it's a bit twisted.

I just finished Voyage of the Mourning Dawn last week. It was full of dinosaur-riding halfling goodness. It almost makes me want to make a halfling paladin with a celestial clawfoot mount.

Not quite sure if a RED dragon, even though undead, would be vulnerable to fire.

Not usually. They generally keep their subtypes, meaning it'd still have the Fire subtype and be immune to fire.

(Check out the Young Adult Red Dragon Skeleton in the SRD for an example.)

YEah, that's what I thought MT. Thanks for confirmation, I knew that little tidbit about dracoliches stuck about from somewhere.

Look at it the same way as Cinnis, he's still a fire elemental (immune to fire, it actually heals him, and double damage from cold) but he is undead.

Heck yeah, nuts to razor cats and undead rats and the likes, let's get some dinosaurs... and make their claws collectibles for Talenta-inspired goodies.

A lil off topic, perhaps, but Devs, is there any chance you could give the black dragon fella a name? Kinda cheezee
that he's just "black dragon", not even "Black Dragon" but "black dragon". He has to have a name, he's hooj.

Give um a name, just a lil thing, but makes it look like someone took some time about it.

    Continue on, hijack over.
